    What's the point if it's that deep and on an unused road? Just leave it until it melts.

      many times these are NOT unused roads. they are lifelines to mountain communities. Avalanches can bury a road to that point in minutes.

      They are likely opening roads in the spring that otherwise wouldn't melt out until June or July. Also, large rotary plows like this are essential to keep major highways (for example, Interstate 90 across Snoqualmie Pass) open during the winter. czcams.com/video/7tfmSRX-x3s/video.html

    Anyone have an idea what that machine cost?

    Why are they going so slow? The T-80 can go faster in that snow.

      Not when it's compacted snow and ice.

      @@xx5zi this machines always operate with compacted snow and ice. Their only limitation is how much the can fit in the blower at once.

      @@TheSiriusEnigma Actually, the T-80, with its standard ribbon reel, has 2 limitations- heavy ice buildup from months of snow compacting into layers, and rocks or wood debris from slides. Do you know the blower speed in RPMs vs. the rolling speed of the vehicle here? Do you know the number of weeks or even months that snow has laid there? We run Larues at my agency.

      Computer controls the blower/travel speed so that it does not bog down and maintains optimal RPMs.

    How much HP?

    • @beezer5623
      @beezer5623 Před rokem +1

      That machine I believe is not a hybrid so should be 755HP, with that blower head attachment should be able to remove up to 5,000 tons per hour.
