    I have this exact model. When they refer to body roll they are spot on. Mine had extreme roll in the corners. Also the ride is not the best, especially on sharp edged rocks. I had my shocks re-valued by Carl’s Cycle and put ZBros springs on and what a difference. It took about 600-700 miles for the springs to get broke in but after that the ride and handling were way better than stock. I had a 2020 XP General and just re-valved the shocks. It rode and handled better but the stock springs are junk. They started sagging after 5-600 miles. I lost around 1-2 inches of ground clearance due to the sagging springs. I currently have over 3000 miles on the ZBros springs on my 2022 and haven’t lost anything due to sagging. Not cheap to do but well worth the cost. Honestly it rides and handles better and I feel much more confident around corners and in technical terrain.

    I know you have covered the ride command but i would like to see an entire video digging into ride command and what it can and can’t do. Like can you add BobT maps for the Hatfield McCoy trail system to it? How it stacks up against the Yamaha Adventure Pro? And are they worth the price as opposed to a tablet and adding gps apps?

      @@dirttraxtv hopefully you decide to do this. Machines are so close with specifications like the Rmax 1000 and the Polaris General XP that the technology might be what someone looks at to decide which machine to buy. I can’t think of anyone better to do this because Dirt Trax Tv is in my opinion the authority these machines and probably have used them the most.

    I also changed the front tires. I found the front tires do not turn well. At least not in desert conditions. I put the same tires on the front as the rear are. That also helped with the ride. I have no idea if this is true but I think the XGF tire that comes in the front must have a stiffer side wall. That is the only thing I can think of as to why the ride improved changing the tires. On my 2020 XP General I stayed with the stock size, 30”, and just put the same tire as the rear on the front and I noticed an improvement in the ride. On my 2022 I went with the same Pro Armor tire just 32”. That also improved the ride over the 30”. I changed the clutches as well. Polaris has a 35-69 weight for the primary clutch that is much better with 32” tires than the 35-76 that is stock. I also changed the secondary spring to a Venom spring that is slightly stiffer than the stock spring. I ride at elevation, 4-10K feet, so the stock set up, even with 30” tires, isn’t the best performance.

      @@dbphillips1978 my point is that these things are becoming overpriced for what they are. Sure they're powerful and durable, but they shouldn't cost what they do. They've steadily raised their prices over the years consistently while only adding marginal value with cheap to add things like stereos, winches, and digital gage clusters etc.

    • @dbphillips1978
      @dbphillips1978 Před 2 lety

      @@frostman9661 same with cars and jeeps. Look how much jeeps went up over the years. Everything goes up, every year, everytime. But I may be partial as I just bought the new yamaha rmax4. And I may own a jeep. But the adventures we go on are awesome. But the same goes with cars, fifty thousand, eighty thousand for a truck. Depending on what it is, slightly used will save you some money from the initial depreciation.

    Thank you for the review. I always come back to the same question and concern which is most important to me. Seating position and leg room. In particular whether the seat is upright or reclined enough. Reclined is most comfortable for me. There is also the issue of left leg comfort. The dead pedal is always a problem for me. I know it is because of the wheel and it is consistent across nearly every UTV I've sat in. My question about the 2022 XP General is this.. is the interior space any different than say the 2019 General.. I forget which one I sat in but it was a desert sand colour and I don't recall if it was an XP.. certainly not ride command. Would appreciate your feedback on ergonomics because if a buyer is not comfortable, they won't likely use the machine as much. Thx.

    • @dirttraxtv
      @dirttraxtv  Před 2 lety

      For me the General remains one of the most comfortable sxs's on the market. It is a little more upright than a pure sport, but the seats are super comfortable and ergonomically how I want it to be. ✌️
