Your the best you answered all my questions as i was puzzled up when I came to know when I have hemochromatosis
How about high iron but normal ferretin levels. How about cooking with cast iron skillets.
It appears no reply is forthcoming.
I got that too Sandy
good question
You wouldnt have hemochromatosis because the ferrtin levels are normal, you can get tested to be on the safe side. Follow up with your Doctor, request to get your iron level tested again within 3 months.
Hi there. I am also wondering if my daily use of cast iron pans has caused my high iron levels. Waiting to hear back from my doc.
Great information
Are there other (supplemental) ways to reduce iron levels like taking turmeric?
Egg milk n coffee as well
Hi Mike, good question! Turmeric is not effective at reducing iron levels. A few methods to decrease iron levels include:
- Tea/Tannic acid
- Vegetarian diet/Reduced red meat intake
- Calcium citrate
- Long-term endurance exercise
@@InsideTracker2hello these really works ?
@@InsideTracker2Any particular tea or just buy tannic acid?
I somehow have high iron but I dont even eat iron rich things like red meat
What are you symptoms? I have some many digestive issues
@@Masspeace I have haemacromotosis which means I am constantly EXTREMELY tired I also feel dizzy and get alot of headaches which I'm sure is due to folate anemia, which is weird since my docter is telling me not to avoid high iron foods even though it is very damaging
@@moonbunny7380 in my case only my transferrin saturation is high 56% and all other iron status is normal can you tell me your transferrin saturation from your test plz
@@Masspeace I'm not getting another test
@@moonbunny7380 no like your first blood test
hell yea ur iron levels can be too high anything can be too high
So I have high iron levels but my transferrin saturation is normal at 58% towards high but my ferritin is optimal! So confused.
