July Equitable Land Access Working Group

We welcomed Jennifer Hashley from the National Farm Incubator Training Initiative to the July Equitable Land Access Working Group. Jennifer shared insights about the national network she manages, which offers one-on-one technical support, resources, and networking events to help establish new programs across the country. She covered essential aspects of launching and operating a successful incubator program and emphasized the role of incubators in helping aspiring farmers grow and start their own businesses. Jennifer provided an overview of incubator program components, including land-based training, technical assistance, mentorship, and market development, stressing the importance of clear program goals and outcomes and showcasing the initiative's extensive online resource library. The Montgomery County Food Council remains dedicated to bringing experts from across the nation to share best practices and support farm incubator projects locally.
