I have lived in The Sierra Nevada wilderness since I was a little boy. Smack dab in the middle of a forest and a long way from anything. The area I hail from has a *lot* of Sasquatch stories, even nights when Police responded to some fourteen inch footprints in the snow. I personally had never had any encounter.
One night about six months ago I was out for a walk down my gravel road, out later than I should have been. I’m the type to pace when I need to think, and I was too busy with what was gong on in my head to make sure I was carrying the old wheel gun for protection. I was about an eighth of a mile down the road from my house, deep in thought when I heard a boom like I have never heard in these woods. It sounded almost like a crunch from a footfall but seemed too loud for that. I didn’t stick around to consider the source because all at once my instinct, coupled with the realization that I was unarmed hit me like a brick in the head.
I took off. I ran like I’ve never run from anything back towards the house. As I ran, the source of the noise evidently took notice, and suddenly I could hear footfalls behind me and that I was being pursued. I ran track in High School and took to jogging for leisure in adult life; I mention that because few things do I do so well as run. But by the time I was halfway to the house, whatever was pursuing me had caught up, I heard the footfalls close in behind me and then continue past, off to the side on my right to flank me. The sound had gotten close enough to overtake me, but had continued *in front of me* as I approached the house. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a glimpse of something a lot bigger than me slip behind a tree. I reached the back deck and tried to clear too many steps at once and I *SLAMMED* my shin on the top step and fell to my hands. I was back up immediately and I reached the door and tore it open to get inside. I didn’t look back on my way in, and once in my living room I caught my breath.
Now this is the part where it becomes clear that testosterone is a dangerous drug that can steal a young man’s rationality. I grabbed the old wheel gun and a head lamp. With the weapon, I felt tough enough to slip back out onto the deck and I stood there with my back to the door and the Ruger out front. I scanned left and right, I looked up in the trees and then I did it all over again. Whatever it was, was nowhere to be seen. All the while the scene where the thing overtook me played back in my mind. The glimpse that I caught of it before it made it behind the tree was not clear enough to identify it with certainty.
Then something hit me, all of a sudden. In my mind it became clear that there was one thing that I *could* say for sure. That whatever it was, was running *upright* on two legs. I went back inside.
I haven’t told this story to anyone because I don’t want to sound crazy and I can’t figure why on Earth it just ran right past me and into the trees instead of ripping my head off. I’m a big country boy, but this thing was a lot bigger than I am. A lot taller from what I recall from the peripheral glimpse. I wish I could say that I saw it clearly and that it was a Sasquatch. I saw it clearly enough to know that it wasn’t a man. I wish I could have picked up the foul smell that folks say Sasquatch carry with them but I was running too fast and had the wind in my face.
What I can say is that there are Sasquatch statues all over this mountain and there is even a Bigfoot themed restaurant down the highway. I’ve tried to rationalize it possibly being a bear up on hind legs, but there is no way it could have been that fast. Like I say, I know how to run and what chased after me was running twice as fast, easily. I could hear the footfalls slamming down from the time it decided to pursue me and it sounded *huge.* If anything, bigger than any black bear we have on this mountain. I’ve considered that perhaps it noticed the proximity of the house that we were approaching and didn’t want to go into the floodlight that illuminates my driveway.
If anyone read all of that, I appreciate it. You’ll be the first people to hear this story that I will probably never tell in person. If you ever find yourself up Hwy. 108 driving towards Pinecrest lake, I wouldn’t recommend walking in these woods at night alone.

Wow! I love this! I think everyone will like this, but most may not see it here in the comments - so I'm going to highlight it in a video. Thanks for sharing it - and no one will ridicule you here. My moderator, Lily Munster is always working in the background; she slices and dices trolls and nasty people better than a Cuisinart food processor. :) She is why this channel is very peaceful - I never see any of that nastiness, and neither will you. :)

I've heard that the Sasquatch that are red in color have more of a stench and they are more violent whereas the ones that are black are just more curious and don't want to do harm. Not all of them smell like rotten sewage LOL. Just like in the story of the grandpa feeding the clan of Bigfoot, he never mentions them even having a smell. They were peaceful, to him anyway and apparently these Bigfoot know what guns are and don't like hunters.

@CaliforniaCarpenter7, I am Glad you wasn't Attacked by it.! But by your description of it Running Faster and being Bigger than you. There is No Doubt in my Mind that what you Experienced and Heard Running beside you, was Most Definitely A Sasquatch/Bigfoot.! If it had been me, I would have most likely Collapsed with Exhaustion after only a few yards.! You won't find anyone on here Ridiculing you or your Story of your Experience.! You will feel a Lot Better in yourself by Letting this Scary Encounter Out and Not keeping it inside you permanently.! Better Out than in, as the saying goes.! Again I am Very Glad you Survived your Scary Ordeal.! Take Care and Stay Safe.! 🦍👍

But how and why would the patterns go along with the investigation that doesn't make any sense at all ...idk I do believe with the children ....only god knows prayers for all the families who have missing people in there lives 💕🙏🌲

Cool encounters. Nice that the home care worker gave credit where credit was due. Her boss did do everything to make is mother comfortable in her home. Good story to. The 3yr girl talking to a sasquatch is scary. I wouldn't wait to see what would happen if left alone unnoticed. Sasquatch steal that baby, I have no doubt. They are not harmless denizens of the forest. Had one walk around my tent all night. I shouted out to leave me alone go away. It screamed that godawful scream that vibrated my rib cage and all my innards too. You can't put into words the fear you feel when hearing that scream. Don't try and get me to write down everything that happened that night. I wish I never heard it. Not a nice memory. This is a good bigfoot site. I like reading encounters still but I will never camp out in a tent again.
