you have to understand the context. the first one by Eurythmics was made during the new-wave boom in the early 80s and it had that sound (i love it, cause i enjoy the genre), meanwhile this is a cover put in the context of the late 90s, a completely different world, and mixed with the industrial metal genre (which i also like). depends on your taste

I am an "old guy" who was young when the Annie Lennox version came out. Guess what? I happen to to think Marilyn Manson nailed this song to the wall and made it his own.
