There are two cats that look very similar. I caught them both and sent them to the animal hospital. I found out that they were both neutered and were raised by nearby residents. They ran out to play. I was a animal control officer for 25 yrs and I always used dry food mixed with some kind of fish canned cat food. I spread it on the ground like you would spread peanut butter on bread. They really liked it and I caught a lot of cats.
Drop traps can require many long nights of no sleep, but it is the reason that I got my indoor girl back after 26 days out in the big world. What a feeling when I pulled that string with her under the trap.. I'll never forget it!

I LOVE that You are trying and you mean well but you made soo many mistakes here honey. I don’t mean to criticize. But first off all, the large drop trap needs to get covered COMPLETELY!! and FAST! That took forever! The cat probably injured himself in dozens of places from the panic and adrenaline. Also, when you attach the smaller trap for transportation, keep the LARGE one Covered and the SMALL One Without A Cover. Cover the small one ONLY - AfTeR - The Cat is inside. Then cover immediately. The cat didn’t want to go in the small one because it looks dark, their instinct is to escape, not go in a box. That’s why it keeps staying under the covered large trap area. Anyways, I hope this helps and I hope that more people would try to put in an effort even if it’s 1 time per year to TNR a cat.

Maybe a better idea to get the cat in the small cage is to cover up the big cage and leave the small cage uncovered so that the small cage looks like the open way "out".
My wife has been doing this in our neighborhood for 20 years. Feral cat populations have declined, but there is always one that refills the territory. You'd never catch me sitting on that cage. Lol. God bless.

I love it how we human adopted cats and dogs and cobra and everything else because we found that they cute at first. And then when we no longer think they're cute, we just released them to the nature with hope they'll adept with this new environment. And then these cats and dogs and snakes adept, they breed, and suddenly we think they are nuisance and threatening to the environment.
It's just that when someones says that there's cats here, I run in the opposite direction. Ailurophobic I just don't know what it is about cats that I fear, but it was in me since childhood.
Those kind of white/gray cats is very smarts and it's hard to catch them.. We had the same in our neighborhood always get inside our house and she is very smart to run away I tried too many times to catch her for couple years and no succed until she died peacefully inside my house in planting basin..

TNR? NEGATIVE TND Trap Neutralize Discard I use a .22cal Ruger MK I. One in the hat and no more problems from that cat.
