  • I bought the Samsung S24 Ultra (as an iPhone user) to see if it's actually worth switching to. These are my first impressions. And no, I'm not going to return it.

    2 tips:
    1. You can set gesture navigation and uses similar gestures to iOS, but works even better, so it eases moving around
    2. You don't need to go all the way to you settings to adjust stuff, just pull down the notification shade for quick toggles, if you need to see all your toggles swipe down in the shade to see them, and if you need to set a specific setting you can just ling press it in the quick toggle to get granular settings immediately

I got the Galaxy Note 20 (was on sale and my first Samsung phone in years since having Huawei) I didn't think I'd have so much fun with it and having the pen and bixby automation is something I don't want to get rid of ever. I also like using Samsung Dex and Link to Windows (never knew about this). The thing that surprised me was that this is my first phone I don't want to use a phone case since the plastic back feels nice and grippy plus looks good.
So, there's too many things that I get from Andorid that I won't go to any Apple product (I like customising the device as it makes it feel like mine and not the companies phone).

I returned my S24 ultra after a week. I really liked the build quality and the display. Though, I could not deal with a fingerprint sensor that was not consistent, and a face unlock that does not work in poor lighting situations…so at night or in a dark room don’t expect it to be of use. Another issue is that banking apps and the like cannot use the face unlock/recognition to unlock apps, so you have to rely on the fingerprint sensor that is unfortunately inconsistent. The notes app that I use and rely heavily on, on my iPhone 15pro is steps above in functionality than the notes app on the Samsung device. I didn’t want to have to search for third party apps for functionality. The display is better than the iPhone display. I found the camera took great pictures, but still not as good as the iPhone. I would have kept it if it weren’t for the poor performance of the fingerprint sensor and the face unlock! For the price of that phone they need to work consistently!
