  • The is an inside of the cockpit video of Bud Granley in the Yak-55 at Olympia in 2013. We'll be there again on Father's day in June. It's 11 minutes long, but you can skip ahead.

Great clip! Love this. Never got time in the 55 and I really wish I did. I like at the end where you can see the difficulty in getting up on the wing - haha. Great flying in this...

Olympia Airport looks like any other airport of that size. So interesting to see Bud's face contorted during high Gs, his hair lifting up (relative to Bud's orientation inside the Yak) when suffering under negative G's Looks like Bud's Yak 55M was parked right beside the wind direction marker. Convenient. I also love that Globe Swift with the engine running back and to the right of Bud's Yak once it came to a stop and Bud hopped out of it.

Impressive hesitation roll after takeoff. Like the faceal expressions too ;)

Awesome Skills Bud! However I watched you fly the B727 and don't remember the fun facial expressions. Of course, You weren't pulling G's either....:o) One of the best pilots I have ever met!...Luke

Don't tell Bud 'cause I don't want him to get a swelled head, but I think he might be a better aerobatic pilot than me...
