Who won't be charmed by Davy? He was such an amazing person it seemed. Wish you were still around in the flesh, but you will always remain in our hearts! :)
Davy Jones was my first love. I was mesmerized when he sang. Felt like he was singing just to me. I will miss him forever. I love you Davy. You were a cherished memory of my youth. Rest in peace. I know you are singing with the angels.
I was sitting right in front of him at the stage. dead center...he caught my winks several times and gave me some back...I was brokenhearted weeks later when he passed..I met him several times and just the nicest person
I love the little Beatles riffs the band did....Davey was a great singer along with the other guys in The Monkees🥂🍾💯...in 86 i was the only black kid running home to watch The Monkees show on Nickolodeon and Mtv.....
I used to call that little dance that Davy did the "Davy Jones shuffle." I'd suspected that Axl Rose was copying it but it didn't quite have the same effect. Just last night Micky and Peter performed at NY's Town Hall for the Monkees' 50th anniversary tour. I'd heard that even 2 days before the show, it wasn't even close to being sold out...very sadly I believe it's because they're missing the man who really had been the driving pulse...rest in peace Davy.
The actual name of the dance Davy made his own and made famous was the Skate. It still creeps into my dancing, now 54 years later! Davy was perfection. Miss him forever.
How cool! He was very sweet to me both times I met him, in '69 and '95.....a fine man, so darling and is still so very missed. He was my first crush on a superstar in '66 when I was 13. I'll always adore the man.
@@terryanngallagher3605 He was my first love and I’m so thankful I could talk my daddy into flying me to Shreveport to see the Monkees in 1967! Thankful he had a plane and pilot’s license! Saw the Monkees again in Atlanta in the late 80’s and Davy in 2006 in Baton Rouge. Me and my best friend sat under the mic at his feet and I got awesome pictures!
@@ebbette Nice Daddy you had there! I saw the Monkees at the Hollywood Bowl with my bestie in '67 too, then again at the Greek Theater in '86, and Mike showed up as a surprise, so cool. Almost saw him and Micky at the Greek again in November but alas, plans fell through...so sad. But I feel blessed I met Davy at Micky's house, a total fluke, in '69, then again after a production he was in of Grease in '95...such a special person! My own daughter was 14 then and asked him to come over for homemade cookies...how cute is that?! How I'd love to see your photos from Baton Rouge...I will always adore Davy Jones and all the Monkees...miss them so and feel for Micky, being alone now. You have a great day, Ebbette--thanks for the great story of your flight to see the Monkees!
ladygreyheart2012 Oh how I wish he was still alive today, breaks my heart that he had to leave at such a young age. His smiling face was still as charming as it was back then.
Davy never forgot who he was and what buttered his bread. Entertainer through and through. It is sad to see all these faces and personalities that I grew up with get older and in some cases pass on.
I watched reruns in the mid 70 s and I didn't care too watch the acting parts I waited to watch them sing all the great hits and DavyJones most definitely a great showman and his dancing was pretty cool
My joint favourite song along with "star collector" I'll never get over Davy dying :'( I grew up watching the Monkees when I was little in the 80's,and saw them in London ten years ago when I was 30,me&hubby&few other fans (about6of us)waited for their coach and when it arrived Davy waved out the window&when he got off coach(Peter&Micky never!)&we shouted at them to please come over to us,but they didn't.i wish they had,I only ever wanted to meet Davy, now I'll never get the chance :'(

After 8 years of Davy's death, I still miss him soooo much!!😔
He knew what his fans wanted from him and he never let his ego interfere with his performance.
I miss him.
Yeah, true.
That's what was so great about Davy. He never separated himself from his audience and always gave them what they wanted on stage.
She Hangs Out is my morning wake up song while I make my breakfast. I play it LOUD and dance around the kitchen. LOVE IT

When I met him he danced that towards me at the head event in 2008. Davy has the most beautiful smile.

Always liked the original version, this doesn't compare to that. The Horns don't help this.
