F10 is my saviour! For all my bird equipment and around the house too. I get mould so that gets rid of it for a while (as it is also anitifungal). Also have the hand gel but found it to be quite sticky but at a pinch it is very useful. Not only for cleaning but also for health: vet prescribed some for nebulising and of course we have the F10 ointment. F10 products are definitely very useful

SC seems to be the only thing I can get where I live. SC and SCXL. I read that if you use XL on anything it needs to be rinsed off afterwards. I don't see the wipes or hand foam, hand jell at all either. This is off Amazon USA I should mention.

I have bought the bottle that's already prepared and ready to use. Do I just spray it on cage/toys/perches etc and leave it to dry? How long until the birds can be near everything again? Is it completely safe to use on soft perches that the birds peel/eat the bark from?

Will this also kill / prevent giardia? Can CL also be used to clean out food / water bowls?
Is it possible to get a video on the difference between a bird who is over preening / stress preening and giardia in cockatiels? Giardiasis has been reported in many species of birds but is most commonly seen in cockatiels. Adult birds may be latent carriers. I am terrified about this one. I know you don't diagnose and all that, take your bird to the vet, but I would love to learn more about this one and I worry, and would rather prevent this before it might happen you know.

Is it really okay to use around them, in the same room, not just after dry? I clean with vinegar and water mostly and I'm so paranoid about anything getting in their lungs. I avoid almost all cleaners unless they're very far away with an air purifier and window open and even then I avoid strong ones. I guess it seems scary to accept that something so effective could be safe near them. I grabbed a bottle of SC and a sprayer to make up some dilute. I hate that it's not in metric either (the instructions), stupid ounces!

      How to dilute F10Sc:
      - For general disinfection - use 2ml in 1 litre (1:500)
      - For higher level disinfection against bacteria, fungi and most viruses - use 4ml in 1 litre (1:250)

@@BirdNerdSophie thank you. On the plus side, now I can feel more comfortable making perches from branches outside. I've always been careful to wash and choose relatively safe ones, and have baked them in the oven previously. It seems like now, I can avoid baking (which often splits and makes the wood brittle), just thoroughly clean and make a stronger solution for disinfecting outdoor items.
