I made my son a doormat for Christmas that says, "Like a good neighbor, stay over there." I had to slice it in 4 and printed it on stencil vinyl and used the spray Flex Seal. It was way beyond what I thought I could do, but it came out so good! He loved it.

I ironed my vinyl down with my easy press worked a treat

I've made a few of these, but used Butcher Paper with wax on backside and Flex-Seal spray They've turned out amazing for me

So I’ve been avoiding the matt thing for a year now but for some reason I’m now interested in doing one. I’m curious tho… is it not a good idea to give it a second coat? I was a little surprised that you were one and done and then went over it with the paint brush in places it was light or not at all. I guess I’m thinking traditional stenciling. I usually end up doing two coats.
I think it's all trial and error. A lot of crafters will have their own way of doing things . I never tried two coats but you might be right it might work just fine!
I wonder if you used a mat that had more of a solid top to it, if it wouldn’t work easier. I’m always thinking outside the box. I know everyone uses these ones but I like to to work smarter not harder. That’s not intended to be an insult, by any means, I’m just lazy. Lol.

I just made another one and I used iron on vinyl but I think I prefer using Butcher Paper with the wax backing. The vinyl seemed more difficult to get up. I also prefer the spray. Thanks for the great job you do.

I thought we were supposed to iron on the stencil?
I didn’t know you could use the liquid flex seal. Seems like it would be less messy.
Yes annnndd the container lasts a long time! The spray can is available in most hardware stores, but the larger can is available now at Lowes if you have one near you! - 🙂Dawn

@@DesignBundles I've used it to seal EVA foam for cosplay and costumes. Wondering if it would work as well. Comes in many colors.
That’s a cool idea! I have plasti dip because I used it on my truck emblems. -I might try that first because I know how to use it. Multiple very thin layers. Great idea!
