Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment. We discovered the world of “travel hacking” & became obsessed. So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world. Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with this lifestyle and did everything we could to keep going. 4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time. Van life was a major adjustment and so different than flying every week like we were used to, but we are incredibly thankful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥

I've worked Etihad first class - they were always the nicest customers ever. One man in his white dress apologized when I spilled coffee on him. Had that been in economy he would had shouted until a manager came and saved me... So nope. Economy class pax are usually the worst and most entitled.

@@RyanTrent You might be new to them but they aren't rich. They are have more financial freedom than when they 1st started doing their vlogs 6yrs ago or so. But they do use credit cards and their points/miles to pay for these awesome trips. As well as some of the hotels or places they stayed at offer them for free of cost to them if they agree to in return do a honest review of the place they are staying at.
They've come a long way from the grimy pod hotels in Japan that they could afford (they of course got to stay in the nicer ones later on, which shows the difference between the lower cost and the higher one.)
Or that's just her way of speaking and expressing that she finds an activity/a thing enjoyable😉

Kara, I can just tell you made that flight attendants whole flight. Flight attendants deal with a lot of jerks, especially the people that fly first class and tend to be snobby. I’m sure it was her pleasure to serve you, truly. Your positivity and vibes are infectious.
Whenever I see a title of first class something I am less interested, but then I watch you guys and you make it fun. I think it's because you are so down to earth, not taking it for granted, very kind, and just yourselves. I am always very glad I watched! Thank you for all your content! 🥰

@@adriannaborkowska9460 they were dining in a fine restaurant, it just happened to be in the sky. The airline provides lounge clothes. My opinion is that when traveling in First Class it shouldn’t be difficult to put on nicer clothes. The airline staff certainly dressed.
@@Sara-ud5di Most of the people traveling on first class are business people, who most of the time go directly to meetings etc. when they land. So that's most likely why they dress up.
Also. You are literally in an enclosed suite. No one has to see you, if you just close the doors. Who cares if you wear a t-shirt or a smoking... (The airline staff is nicely dressed because everyone can see them, and it's more a pleasure to the customer)
Looked so fun! Kara's contagious attitude & Nate's engaging demeanor makes me enjoy these videos so much! I am surprised that you said that this is the longest flight y'all have ever taken. When one of my sisters lived in Chiang Mai for 17 years she always said that her flight back & forth between the USA and CM was 24 hours & it took her several days to get over the jet lag.

haha i was in economy in the last row with my family and it was such a great experience. so much so, in fact, that i wrote a letter to the ceo to tell him just what a great experience it was!they treated us so well! my nieces were starving after the long haul flight and of course we weren't going to be getting off anytime soon. one of the attendants heard, went to get some of that chocolate cake kara loved so much and brought the rest of the cake down for us! omg. above and beyond. we were so grateful to her!

Kara doesn't do editing, they pay a team to do it for them. There is no hard work involved in flying first class and bragging about how many sponsors they have. Let's face it this is classic You-Tube fame entitlement. They went from genuine, normal people travelling on a budget to "Look how successful we are, and you all paid for it, suckers"

This is on my bucket list!! The closest I’ve gotten to this experience was in a closed door suite on the A350. I can’t wait to get on an A380 in a suite on Emirates. This is experience looks so worth it. I’m sooooo happy y’all got to do this and share with us!!

I finally decided to watch your videos from the very beginning sometime last year and I have just gotten to your travels to Bolivia. It's just crazy to see how far you guys have come and just how in the beginning you had no idea that this is where you would be today. It just goes to show that you should always believe in yourself and to chase your wildest dreams because you never know what could happen. I'm currently working on trying to get my first real job out of college so I can start earning miles and points through a credit card. One day I hope to experience a first or business class seat.

Kara is the only person I know who get more exited than me on a plane. Lucky enough to try this on a short 4 hour journey last year and just so amazing. If you engage positively with the crew, you get such a great experience. Going to do the same AKL-DBX in June, but sadly not at the front !
And my late father 👨 who was in his 80s and 90s and was super excited to fly he loved it so much! He used to love to fly different airlines and always came up with a choice! I mean I am talking flying from india to Canada and returning! God bless his soul! 😮😢❤

Kara and Nate...in 1971 the L1011 planes in the US had in the back of their planes a lounge with a bar area and piano. Anyone could use that area. It was amazing.
Before anyone asks how this was possible, before 1978 travel in the US and the world was highly regulated. The government decided who could fly between two points and how much it would cost. So therefore the only thing that the airlines could compete on was equipment, service, and amenities. So back then, even coach included hot food, free papers, magazines, playing cards, free baggage, and pretty much anything they could do. The inflight movie was on a screen for everyone, but that was only on the newest aircraft. Then deregulation came and while it brought prices down, it has led to the horrible service we have now, where the only thing that matters is how cheap the flight is. Except for a few very high value routes where you have insanely priced first and businesses class seats. But the back is packed tight as a sardines. Cheap but miserable.

My 3 year old son flew with us Dubai to Melbourne in business and the staff were amazing with him. He was getting hugs and snacks galore. Best airline ever 😊
