what dweezil is doing imho , is perhaps the most proper and honorable thing a person can do .acknowledging his father's genius and dedicating his life to perpetuating the music , it could be considered selfless sacrifice, but he does get to play zappa and be a zappa . kudos to dweezil from swami's motel band

Yes. And for me he is the only one that REALLY looks like he is in a Frank Zappa band. No doubt because he played with the man himself. But younger generation musicians somehow don't have the same flare and wit that musicians in Zappa's bands had. Although they are all good musicians, no doubt. Keyboard solo was really nice.

What's funny about Zappa's intense amount of material that if you have friends who listens to Zappa as well, you can always find something neither of you have not probably heard before. The amount of albums and releases just makes sure that you can pick a random album and find something new. Exploring all of his stuff would take a lifetime and that mine of art is just fun to dig.

While listening to this song, I got a huge urge to take a dump. But I don't want to pause the song to break the continuation and cut the experience. Gives this song and performance a bit extra intensity.

Dweezil, a total gentleman, I was lucky to see him pre show, Bristol Colston Hall UK 2011, sound check then to sign gear brought in by the lucky us ( 30 i think) he sat on edge of stage, shook my hand, and I got him to sign my FOOL SG replica, he strummed it, chat on Apostrophe, and Frank, no hurry, no rushing even though roadies were telling him to "get a move on". 2 or 3 hours later, he`s back again, out in foyer, signing loads of stuff, I waited my turn, not to be greedy as (pre show) he looked up and said, "hey Den, where`s that fancy guitar" then gave my missus a hug. This was after 11pm by now, he`d played a million notes and still had the memory to call me Den, what a most brilliant bloke this man is and what a fantastic guitar player, a real gent. All I spoke to later said the same, fantastic person.

Love It!! The drummer is absolutely great (as are all of them), but not too many drummers actually know how to tune drums to make them sing as he does! And hats off to the soundman because he knows how to accentuate a greatly tuned drum kit. You will rarely hear drums sounding this good outside of a studio environment. Outstanding sound engineering, mucho kudos to the engineer it sounds nearly as good as the studio album and THAT is truly saying something!

I've loved this song since the first time I heard it in like, 1976, seen Frank perform it live a few times, this piece was _made_ for live performance, and this one was brilliant, one of the best I've heard, imo. Dweezil is a hell of a guitarist, that solo was just awesome, a _chip off the old block_ as they say, what an amazing band, as tight as the original.
Really enjoyed this, I've been kind of _re -_ discovering Frank Zappa of late, since YT has become the most amazing musical library ever assembled, I'm also finding all of his stuff I _hadn't_ heard. I am, at this point, completely in awe of the man and his music, far more than I was as a teenager, it's great that his son is sharing his father's music with a new generation, all of it is pretty timeless, and pretty amazing too.

This clip cuts it off, but on the DVD it shows NMBrock with his arms out-stretched, praising the band to the audience in several directions, As he walks off the stage, he starts shaking his head, and I know what he is saying to himself: "What a fuckin' band !!" Of all the versions of this song I have heard, this is the finest. As the guitar solo builds and builds, DZ kicks in some guitar synth, really starts to soar, and the band comes Roaring back (5:00) to a climax at (7:45). It's so good, it gives me chills. AND THE SONG'S ONLY HALF OVER. Praises to DZ for keeping Frank's music alive, and exposing a new generation to it.

Inca Roads is perhaps my favourite Zappa 'tune" of all time. As Frank himself said: "I like to play solos.... LONG ones!" I never thought that anyone could come close to Frank's original solo on "One Size Fits All" (an edited version of the one which appeared on the Helsinki concert box set), in terms of feel and emotion. But Dweezil, you did it! You've really done your old man proud here. Beautiful work from Napoleon and the rest of the band as well.

Inca Roads has one of the most beautiful guitar solos Frank ever played,
man, thrown right back into the seventies, was always one of my
favorite compositions...and Napoleon still sounds like back that days,
amazing singer...absolutely cool to hear this in 21st century hd sound
      :)
      Thanks a lot guys

I heard Dweezil in Phoenix in an outdoor concert. There was a large screen. Unfortunately, the sound wasn't working. Dweezil wanted to show his father playing on video and to have the band play along. What a concept! I think Dweezil keeps the music of Frank Zappa alive. His music is still relevant. Dweezil has had decades to learn how to play guitar, lead his band, and improve the interpretation of the compositions. What great art. What great musicians.

Only things that's missing is George, other than that Fanbloodytastic, a terrifically difficult piece, particularly for percusssion and nice Dweezel didn't just play a note for note solo and put something of Himself in there.

Love it, great version. Dweez is killing it and frankly so are the rest of these guys. FZ always wrote the best material for his world class musicians to really stretch out on. Who else could compose stuff in odd time that grooved as hard? Not many people I would wager.

The concert recorded in Seattle for the DVD too. You can' t do that on stage anymore

In today's world a trade founded by the father is rapidly becoming something of the past, considering that many kids don't carry on where their fathers left off (instead they arse about with their Iphones and are not creative). Dweezil has the power to keep his father's music, genius, and legend alive (and I hope Dweezil's kids will continue too), this assures his musical genius and inspiration will never cease to exist. The man was a musical pioneer, I love his sound and style, and when I hear stuff like this it positively charges me! Long live the name FRANK ZAPPA, and long live his creations. Thankyou Dweezil Sir for continuing to share your father's music with us!

Please, everyone, check out the one and only Rachel Flowers on her Sound Cloud page. She does versions of Inca Roads, Zoot Allures, Montana and Peaches En Regalia which will astonish you. Her Inca Roads certainly astonished Dweezil, who loves it.
