The Guitaristas CZcams channel is fully independent of sponsorship, paid reviews, and supported/gifted products... it's all the thrills without the shills! đžBut this content costs real time and a lot of money to make so my own way of raising a few extra $$ to fund the channel is via the subscription TV Channel at: theguitaristas.tv and I am very grateful to my growing army of loyal supporters there who help fund this content, make it possible, and keep it real. You know who you are. đ
I AM NOT AN EXPERT. Some things I do know and some things I don't know but think I know and sometimes I say things that are not entirely correct. Once I have said things it's too late to correct them so please check any 'so called facts' with an adult, google, wikipedia, or someone else that knows.
We run this channel to provide therapy for our gear addiction and for an excuse to buy more. Please like and subscribe and keep coming back to watch our films if you would like to support the channel!

Lot's of asks where you can get the Ascent range: You can find them in the USA exclusively via Mannys digital pop up store on the downloadable Bandlab App⊠or exclusively in the UK and Singapore at Dawsons and SweeLee⊠both of whom will ship worldwide I am told.
All owned by the same parent company which also owns Heritage Guitars⊠from what I can see they are only selling them in the company owned stores.
Will they be sold in the European Union? I don't want to pay any customs duty.
A "Heritage" made in China sort of defeats the whole concept behind the name.
I will be voting but I think a head to head comparison with the H150 and the Ascension. See how the budget line compares to the standard?
That ending was so well done I'm not even pissed đ€Ł
Sadly when i went to Vote yesterday i didnt see Colins name on my ballot paper , what this country needs is straight talking guy/girl/other with no hidden agendas , Good Lad.. love your work
I can imagine the policies... free SG for every child when they turn 10, make guitars tax-deductable and outlaw PRS
Who do you think Count Binface is?
I'd rather have Colin on the ballot than both choices in America
Love this †yeah my vote right here !
Isn't there sufficient endless woffle without adding this bumbler to the list?
His maiden speech would last several days.
Man your the best of them all. Like seriously man. I look forward to Friday for more than one reason now.
This is by far my favourite CZcams channel. Just subscribed to the TV channel. I think it's only fair to give something back for all the time and effort you put in to keeping us entertained every week.
Cheers Steven! đđ
@@stevenellis5477 bravo!
By far the best guitar channel on the tube, cheers Colin, looking forward to the next review vid! :)
Cheers mate đđ
@@theguitaristas No probs, you deserve the support mate. Not always sure some folks of the tube realise the amount of work that goes into the content and all the editing and commitment it takes to produce the quality that you do. Luckily many do. Its a superb channel Colin and very much appreciated mate.
Always love the channel and your stuff Colin. I was proud to see my name on your roll of honour but a bit dismayed that I was down as plain old I G Nicholls while others have more charismatic handles such as â650 Thunderbirdâ. When did I stop being groovy? Was it when I started wearing jeans with a stretch waistband?đą

Its a pleasure to watch the reviews and to learn new knowledge! A huge thanks to you too Colin đ€đž
Even without the awesome introâs your content is still a 10/10 from me, my friend
My wife often ignores the videos Iâm watching but she perks up when she hears you - we agreed youâd just be the kind of bloke that would be top to have a pint down the pub with!
Cheers thatâs appreciated! đđđș
As always, great vid! You have my support.
With Epiphone pulling out of the affordable market, it seems like a good time to be bringing this out. Just need an H-170...
They're not so much "pulling out of it", depending on what price point one considers affordable.
Epi is still making all the normal Standards and Customs in the $500-$700 range they had been, and also still have the cheaper $200 bolt-ons. And they're all still very nice.
They've just been marketing the hell out of the $1400+ IBGC models the last 9 months or so. Because they're selling like mad.
What you talking about? This is simply false! Epiphone aren't pulling "out of the affordable market"...they still offer their "affordable" range (whatever that means).
They simply created additional product tiers. The head of Epiphone said as much in VIDEO on Gibson TV. Stop spreading false information.
Hadn't heard the back story before, I've admired the quality of your show and wondered what you do for a living? Everything makes sense now. I used to be a cameraman myself, worked in tv-productions, sports and entertainment mostly. I quit couple of years ago, got burned out and stuff. It's funny though how now a days when I watch something on tv, I get these moments where I go, "Hey.. I used to do that for a living..". Keep up the good work!
Cheers man! đđ
You're right to plug the TV channel Colin. People are used to so much free stuff online they don't give a second thought to what it takes to create it. I've just popped over to the TV channel to see what the second Heritage guitar is and you won't be disappointed folks when it shows up on your CZcams feed.
Yep. With YT Premium one doesn't see ads, so just about every other YT'er actually puts ads in their vids these days. They also prominently mention Patreon in every vid. Colin's TV channel is his own version of Patreon with other perks included, which is brilliant, IMO, and he doesn't push it the way the other presenters push their Patreon account.
top stuff as always mate, cheers Wes
The channel is $5 very well spent. I love that your channel is authentic, and is the only one I can think of that pretty much sticks to the punk rock ethos of DIY and Integrity the whole way. At the same time, it's clear that this has been weighing on you and it's becoming an issue so ultimately you may have to do what you have to do. I'll be supporting you either way.
The Ascent H-150 is currently unobtainium here in the US. Cheers!
Check Mannys on the bandlab app
Wow, I just checked Manny's on Bandcamp. The Ascents are on sale for $175 USD, and that includes thier P90's Ascent, only it's the H-137 Ascent, not the H-150.
Just got mine! (Michigan). Shipped from Kalamazoo
Holy Cats! Will have to pass on these now that Fender's new Player ll series has been announced. Had no idea they were coming. They are looking super sweet. Cheers!
Always love your content, Collin. Thank you for sharing your gear and thoughts.
Wow! I didnât even know Heritage had a new budget line. I think youâre one of the first to reveal and review one of these. Very exciting.
I had no idea these were coming out!
Always look forward to your weekly video to start my weekend with a cup of coffee and some biscuits. Best annual subscription I've signed up for in awhile!
Fair play to you Colin đ
Honest reviews with no bs,
Love the end!
Friday night , another week closer to retirement , watching Colin . What more do I need in life đ
Im a bit of a snob when it comes to Les Pauls, bolt on necks are usually out, I really should base my opinion on how it sounds and not how the neck is fixed, the mad thing is the Fender Telecaster is my favourite guitar!
I am interested to see how Heretidge look after their brand with these guitars, are they set up well?
Lol that makes no sense. A little ocd . Lol
Thoroughly approve of your ethos alongside your content! I vote for the H150 for review btw . Cheers Colin, rock on đ€
Looking forward to both reviews, Colin!
I am honored to be included in the roll of honour Colin! happy to be funding an addiction many of us have, and funding the best guitar review channel on the âtubeđ«Ą - Steve
Cheers mate!
Beautiful guitars, thanks for the unboxing.
The fact you don't do paid reviews and unscripted vids is one of the reasons why I watch your videos, you're just like most of your audience, a massive guitar nerd and it's great to watch. That said, if you were to take some sponsorship in order to enhance the channel and keep doing what you love I doubt anyone would blame you! Do what it takes to keep the channel alive mate.
Hey Colin, love your videos. Look forward to them forst thing froday morning here in the east coast od thr USA
Great video as always Collin.
This did push me over the edge now to finally subscribe to the TV channel. Keep up the great work!
Nice one that's appreciated! đđ
@@theguitaristas No problem, I was going to do it for the Strummer build as company while I tackle my two Mustang builds, just need all the parts to arrive first. But this video just made it happen a little quicker.
Another great video Colin the ÂŁ250 heritage gets my vote, looking forward to the next one âïž
I like what you do, I trie to watch the other stuff on guitar, but you are the best.
Thanks thatâs appreciated đđ
Very nice brand for the price. Very cool guitars indeed. Cant wait to hear them.
Definitely review the Standard.
Would really like to see you review high end guitars, especially custom shop.
I suppose like most of the YT audience, I couldn't care less if your videos are sponsored or not (unless maybe if it were by Putin...). You and your style of presenting is why we come and watch your content. But you do you, if you prefer your independence, kudos to you. See you soon đđŒ
as a long-time tinnitus sufferer, that ending tone put me on edge. love the show!
Hilarious! Never have I been so glad to be already subscribed to the TV channel! The best bit is over there! đ
HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. I like like your approach!! You do a fantastic job. Thank you.
I love the end of this videođ
Looking forward to this one
Colin, his Crocs of Rock and Butterknife of Joy are the best thing on CZcams.
I was getting ready for work & had to rush to work & I was thinking of the Heritage H150 all night! After work, I looked them up & after seeing your video, I assumed the H150 was $249.00 but NO, Its 2,599.00. Thankfully I found a Bullfighter SB series LP style guitar & after tax, shipping & handling & all fee's,it cost exactly $150.00 & it's fantastic! Yeah it's a Chinese guitar but, it's rather nice!!! I got the very last one from amazon. I am very glad I purchased it!!!! Now I want every Bullstar/ Bullfighter guitar I see based on the quality of this one LP styled guitar! I'm rather disappointed that the Heritage H150 cost so much & I cannot afford one.
Fun video. I'm a Heritage fan from way back. I even drove by the factory in 1986 just to see where Heritage guitars were made. I had to wait more than 30 years to buy my first Heritage, but I now own three: an H-150 and H-535 with consecutive serial numbers, and a second H-150. They're fabulous guitars with at least as much connection to the golden era Gibsons as the current Gibsons have. I'm not sure how I feel about the new import range, but I'm looking forward to seeing your review.
I had a late 90's Roy Clark model that I sent to the factory for some fretwork and refurb on some scratches and dings. Ren Ferguson was there at the time and personally restored it from the ground up. Did a superb fret level, crown, etc. and took all the hardware off and buffed it, worked his magic and made it look like new! Too bad they had to resort to this to likely save the factory and business.
That was a dirty trick at the end.đ keep it up
Naughty! I was dying for you to open that box!
đđ
Thanks Col, Iâll come and join you.
Great film !!
First impressions are good. I hope they have success with them. More because I hope they start putting additional ranges between these and the core models. A ÂŁ600 Epiphone slayer would be a good idea to start with.
Keep going Colin!
Stellar burn at the end Colđ
Thanks for keeping it one hundred Colin.
There's something about a Les Paul with a bolt on neck that's hard to get past.
it's the ungodly hour of 7:00 am...EST. in the USA. We're already playing with guitars!
Look forward to it every Friday!
4 in the morn on the west coast be we are here for it
Half-past 7 AM in Mexico City and ready for you Col⊠Cheers!
I stopped playing Gibson 35 years ago and switched to Heritage USA models, always got a great tone with good sustain. My old Goldtop H150 has seen 25 years worth of gigs and is battle scared
but still gets the job done with ease. They really are a brand worth checking out.
My heritage story started a bit later. I bought and sold three Gibsons and couldnât find a good one. Then I stumbled across an odd little heritage (the body is slightly smaller, like the h-140 series but has a few spec differences that donât match up⊠and no serial number or control compartment sticker for information. I was told it was a prototype for the h-140 and given to an endorsee as a gift⊠but I donât think thatâs likely either. Iâve reached out to Ren Wall and he thinks maybe it was a factory second that had the stamp removed somehow but thereâs no evidence of anything being removed from the headstock and the âmade in Kalamazooâ lettering is intact. Iâm leaning toward once-defective, employee finished guitar, or something or that nature).
I bought it and it was instant confirmation I had my guitar. Twenty three years later, itâs still the prettiest burst Iâve ever seen and plays as nice as ever.
@@shanetx81 đ Cool...
@@grahamzebedee5525 so as a Heritage owner and fan, what is your take on the Ascent line? I think they should have changed the name on the headstock to something other than the Heritage.
@@jfiery Hi, I have yet to see one up close to make an informed decision. I feel its better to judge with the item in hand before rushing to any conclusions.
@@grahamzebedee5525 what? Are you insane? A guitarist im YT comments being rational? Haha. Well to me, I understand the entire concept until I get to the headstock. I guess time will tell if it's a good idea.

I'm guessing you've given it alot of thought but is 12:00 the best time?
It's 07:00 in alot of the States and I'm in the UK and watch after work in the evening, so are you not missing out on the quick clicks?
@@georgeoh-well8116 i thought this as well. I didn't know the 1st 30 mins were so crucial. The timing of the release doesn't seem to be the best to maximize those first 30 mins. I mean it's 0400 on the west coast. 12 hours later would get a LOT more US eyes on it in the 1st 30 mins. This is of course making the assumption that his audience is mainly in the US.
A suggestion for anyone looking for a new standard or custom core H-150 by Heritage, go to a Heritage dealer and ask what the best price they can give you. I was able to get several hundred off the online dealer price. And after reading online some other peopleâs experiences, it is common to get a significant amount off. (Not sure about the UK. Iâm in the states.)
P.S. My #1 is a Heritage 535 and itâs a lifetime keeper. Wonderful instruments.
Sorry late start today busy at work ... 4 am or lunch time, still best part of my Friday.... cheers
i still cant get over how gorgeous that finish is on the Standard heritage, holy wow its probably one of the nicest finishes i have seen of that specific Finish. ill be putting my vote towards the Standard. i want to see that beauty indepth
Yeah it's a beauty... proper curly maple đ„
I voted, Colin but, really, what I'd like to see is s side by side comparison review of the Heritage & Heritage Lite. Double the work for you :-)
What a great move by Heritage at a time when Epiphone prices are going through the roof đ
How many Epiphones do you buy a year? You make it sound like it's a monthly heating bill.đ
@@HALWASRIGHT for me itâs 0 because I donât think epiphones are worth the price.
The heritage I would buy without a thought
@@HALWASRIGHT I donât and wouldnât buy the current Epiphones at their inflated price point. But this about what Iâd buy, Iâm a seasoned guitarist that gigs for a living. My grandkids however, they could easily save up to buy one of these. Itâs a great way of getting new youngsters buying guitars at an access point that they can afford and a great way for Heritage to get them switched on to their brand....Gibson Corp and itâs subsidiaries have truly lost their way. Even as a gigging guitarist thereâs no way it fork out the prices Gibson want for the quality theyâre turning out.
I'm interested in hearing the P90 version!
Youâre a man of integrity Colin, and thatâs rare nowadays. I agree with a lot on here though, none of us would think less of you for taking some sort sponsorship. If you could pick and choose what things were sent to you for free, youâd still be reviewing what you liked. Andy Ferris ( the guitar geek ) is a great example of this. His reviews are sponsored however he gives his honest opinion on everything and seems like a decent bloke in the process, much like you Col.
I love your films and share your love of 6 string axes
Great work! Love your channel! :-) Little suggestion (although its not your type of guitar, I think): I bought an Epiphone es-355 shinichi ubukata (from a UK store) that is OMG amazing. OK... perhaps better suggestion: how about those Epiphone inspired by Gibson? The ES 355 ones are relevant, I think, since the Gibson equivalents are ÂŁ6k+? So it's sort of the only "mid price" one? (They have Gibson custom shop custombuckers)
As soon as I see a guitar with a Les Paul shaped body my mind demands an LP shaped headstock. Nothing more, nothing less.
What a fantastic video have a wonderful day also a fantastic weekend Colin also don't worry about the no intro also I am not a fan of the les Paul to be honest â€đ

I really like your American made Heritage H150. I own a heritage Golden Eagle jazz guitar and I love it. I think Heritage is definitely, without a doubt, one of the best guitar companies out there
I thought when first looking at the Heritage it seemed smaller than the Les Paul ?

Man, I really want to hear your thoughts on the H150, but these damn new budget Ascent models are so new that there just aren't any reviews out yet. I had to vote for the new budget model. I'm gassing for an H150 badly, though. Will the budget model satisfy that itch?
