Restotuner is a life saver.
It's nice to see these cars without the rear quarters being rotted out by Canadian winters :)
Amazing how much simply lowering the car makes such a huge difference!
Such great simple content! I have much respect for you man always being thorough and safe. Can’t wait for the next episode.
It's amazing how much the stance of a car can change the whole look of it
Really liking the EJ content, and this video dropped at the perfect time! I just restored a 2000 EBP EM1, and I’ve been eyeballing this brand for the coilovers. I’m not gonna slam or track it, and my car will probably only see maybe 1-2k miles a year tbh, so some basic coilovers will suit me just fine. Also I’m keeping my eyes open for a clean 99/00 EJ for a daily. It’s been awhile since I’ve done coilovers on a civic, I forgot how relatively easy it is!
These coilovers are decent but yeah do not slam them. The uca will hit. They ride a little better than stock struts. Wish they had stiffer springs.
Thanks for the info. I’m not gonna slam or track the car, just some easy cruising from time to time. So these should suit me just fine.
Every time i get excited when i see the new video notification, can't wait for the next one.
My affordable dream Honda 😂
Perfect amount of low.. looks great.. wonder how it would look with some spacers. Specially the rear tires. Take that sunken look away..
I may try to put some wheels on it. Not sure yet.
You’re video quality is always amazing! Great stuff!
Thanks!
Great job, man! Love your content!
nice video man. i have and ej8 myself. same color and year. i love it.
Looks way better than before 👍
Looks good man! Perfect drop for it! Hope to see it in person sometime! Awesome video as always man!
Thanks! Might not have it much longer, it all depends!
I like everything about a set of maxpeedingrods coilovers i had on my ek, they just got SUPER rusty!
Gotta spray them down with some CRC Corrosion Inhibitor first!
amzn.to/3J57iMs
@@crxseth i seen your other video you spray the CRC everywhere on the shock can i use grease , if so where should I put it?
@@Davidmtz559 Just get the CRC and use that. Grease will not work the same way.
@@crxseth thank you 🙏
@@crxseth another question So how I have the Non-adjustable one do I have to take out the whole shock out ?
Man I was getting into this restoration. I was bummed to see theres no more on the channel! Awesome job though for sure!
Thanks for following. It just didn’t make financial sense at the time to continue with this car. I bought it to flip and ran out of time to work on it so decided to sell before putting too much more money into it and getting upside down on it.
@@crxseth I'm currently looking for a civic and the fact you kept it basically stock is awesome to a buyer like me. I would have killed to buy it lol. Love the channel though!
Loved the ground kick to the wheel very nice
Its coming together nicely 👊🏿
Super slick dude!!
Colby
Thanks for watching, Colby!
Nice video as always man, greetings from Spain👋🏽
Thanks for watching!
Fire
MXPRDS should have sent the SP1s
Would like to know how they ride on the EK
I know. I’m wanting to try them out, too. I should have requested them. Maybe next set!
nice man!!! just installed the same coilovers on my 95 Integra along with control arms upper and lowers and ball joints.
be careful bro, my maxshitrods just got fucked the other day, only lasted me 2 months, went with bcracing golds
@@Snake_47 what happened to the maxpeedingrods?
@@kraz2883 went through a pothole and the piston rod came free from the top hat. The rod is free to move around and has even dented the inside of my hood. Don't expect much for quality from something so cheap. Learnt my lesson.
@@Snake_47 that's shitty. But let's be honest....it was a pothole. I mean, new cars fuck up there suspension in potholes all the time.
I have them on my car atm. The only real problem I have is that they don't tell you what the spring rate is or have a selection to choose different springs rates. When I had the old springs anything above 100+mph it turned into a boat. They were 5k. Very unsafe. I took my old springs 15k off old coilovers and stuck them on and now they are much better. I would say that they aren't bad for a budget car but not a race car.
@@kraz2883 Fair enough, just seems that a large majority of ex-mpr users have overwhelmingly negative things to say, the only positive is, good for budget cars/builds
Yeah Civic budget build! lets goooooo!
Love it bro
Nice & clean.
Regards from Chile!
Thanks for watching!
@@crxseth I see all your videos. I have a 90 Civic Hatch and one day I hope to have it as clean as your crx!
I hope you source some nice 16 or 17s for this an do a refinishing job to bring them back to life! Or some oem 19-2000 si wheels
Hmmm, I’ve got a set of 99-00 Si wheels on the shelf…
@@crxseth make this build a budget SI build. I had a 2000 EX with an si front lip, eibach springs and tokico 5 way adjustable struts! Don’t forget the skunk 2 camber adjustment kit!
@@crxseth why am I now hoping you do a full si purple/blue budget color change 😂
Hard to do a budget Si build when Sinparts are so expensive. Just the grill is $350. Front lip? $600-700.
@9:44 blob eye spotted! I drive a bugeye Wrx and the wife mobs our CRX!
If those are MaXpeedingRods coils, I would caution you against using them long term, I had them on my 8the gen Accord briefly but the shock travel was somehow so oddly messed up that my rear tires both got an uneven wear pattern DOWN TO THE BELT in a matter of weeks- it looked as if I’d driven over a cheese-grater on the outside tread, or E braked around a mile long sandpaper corner a few times over.
looks good, just needs some em1 wheels and front lip
You’re not wrong.
Em2 wheels would look great. Too many em1 wheels out there. Heck, some stock EX hubcaps would be fine too. Or some 7th gen 15" steelies and oem hubcaps would work. Whatever you can find cheap
Man oh man, do you have something special here with your channel! You really figured out the code!
Your channel has a unique way of letting me know it's YOU! And I'm just tranced out while watching! I didn't even care that you gave us the whole passenger side shock swap! I was like, he's not fast forwording LOL!
Excellent work! Awesomeness!
That attention to minute detail is unparalleled
Don’t think I didn’t consider time lapsing it! I decided to just chop it up and make it quick, though. Since I did all this in one day, I didn’t have much time to do anything else, so I included a little more footage of the suspension than I would have liked.
My God What a thing of beauty! HONDA for life!
Great job the drop is just right. Are you gonna put some new wheels on them?
If I keep the car much longer, I may throw on some 99-00 Si wheels.
I wont to start building too man 🖤🤝
🔥🔥🔥I love your videos. ask where can I buy the fuse panel stickers
Link in the description!
www.restotuner.com/1996
Great job
I need to change the coilovers
On my civic 2002 too
And I was trying to find some
How good are those u just put
Not bad for the price. Nothing top of the line.
Doing a y8 bottom with a z6 head build having trouble torquing head down any chance you can give me some tips or point me the right direction to the correct head studs
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Good day, Sir. Any available temperature control, radio console and hand brake console?
Hey Seth, what transmission fluid do u run in your hondas. I hear people speak wonders about gm synchromesh fm. I usually run the honda mtf but my tranny dosent feel as smooth as I would like.
I dont have a honda but my MT was crunchy until I put Redline MT90 in it. Good stuff
I don’t have a ton of experience using different things. I usually just run the Honda MTF.
How’s the ride on tbe coil over. Soft?
Softer than some coilovers, but it’s more comfortable.
It is posible instal the Cool Lower yo Ford Explorer 2000??? Thanks
What’s the cleaner and foam you used in the engine bay? I don’t see them listed in video description. 😅 Thx.
Degreaser: amzn.to/3KxayTe
Foam: amzn.to/3AttXQk
like!
Ebay ITB. Everyone turbos. Do an ITB
Great vid, as usual. Was that stock?
The car was stock.
Score 🤑
What did you use to clean the engine bay? Is it okay to use water? Coz there are many electronic devices there. Waiting for the CRX to complete.
Degreaser, soap, and pressure washer. Yes, just don’t spray into electrical items too much.
Do you cover your alternator when you wash the engine??
@CRXseth is alignment a must after installing coil overs?
Yes. Definitely recommended.
Hey man, on the CRC corrosion can I spray that on my battery terminal?
I’m not sure. I believe they make a conductive grease designed for that application.
@@crxseth alright thank you
Where can I buy this fork?
May I know here you get fuse panel detail sticker
Check out Restotuner.com
Would appreciate any Help!! Y8 / z6 head having trouble torquing head down what head studs should i use !?
I’ve never done that before, but I would research on Honda-tech.com or d-series.org
What kind of trouble? Are you using ARP studs or regular headbolts?
@@toddp5122 I’m using regular head studs boss and it’s leaking from the head a little not drastically but i can tell that it’s coming from the cylinder happen to know what bolts i need to use to get it to seal right ?
Thanks for the response!!
@@crxseth thanks for the response boss
What size are the wheels
👍👍👍👍
Part 3!
aren't you suppose to cover the distributor so water won't get into it?
You can to be extra cautious. I usually just try to avoid directly spraying it.
@@crxseth ah… good to know.
What does a clean stock EK(2000) like this one go for these days?
I sold this one for $2800.
@@crxseth that’s a good price. Do you think the 2000 hatch (stock) is worth more than 2800?
@@erikwright197 Depends on the condition, but most likely, yes.
Hmm I guess JDM ek have the battery on the left of the engine bay
Where did you get the fogs?
EBay.
Any updates or you got rid of it?
I sold it a while back.
How much will you sell the EK for?
I’m not sure yet. Still have some work to do to it.
muito top, parabéns
Honda Lovers Hit Like For The Video
Love From Pakistan ♥️♥️♥️
Update on the Civic, what happened to it?
I spoke about it in a couple videos back. I knew I had the ITR coming so I decided to sell it before doing too much more work to it for no reason.
These made my crx ride horrible. Way too bouncy. I can feel everything. I didn't even slam it either.
Love the content. I just subbed. One thing on those MSR coilovers.. make sure to tighten the main top bolt/nut. Sometimes they’re not tight and can come loose.
Example: czcams.com/video/h9xWiiy37dM/video.html starts @ 4:14
I made sure to tighten them. I show me doing it on one in my video. I didn’t show all of them.
@@crxseth My bad. I didn’t catch that the first time I watched.
Yo monte unos coils
Y a los 2 Años haciendo revisión porque el guia vibraba a las 65mph
El mecánico noto que todo el tren delantero estaba reventado
Los quite ese mismo mes 👎😏
Ok y
Cheap car + stiff suspension = Piece of shit bumpy creaking rattle ride! Hate it! Love my AMG’s smoooooth air suspension!!!
When you finish a black si crx?
Hopefully I’ll have it done this year sometime. Maybe summer/fall.
@@crxseth I like your videos. Every week I wait for a new video :) Just keep going!
