My Most Embarrassing Performance

Like any other weirdo in high school, I decided to start a high school metal band. We played death metal, and only performed once, the band was named SapÍla
This is the story of the band, beginning to end (we broke the band up after the performance) I don't care how many pitchforks and torches y'all hold, SapÍla will never get back together...
This is a story time video, that also showcases the performance itself at the end. The performance was around Feb 2020, I was 15 years old, in freshman year of high school, the youngest in the band

Our music was inspired by Cryptopsy, Necrophagist, Cannibal Corpse, Death, and whatever else we listened to as edgy teenagers

Lol that wasn't that bad, I had this weirdo indie-band in highschool and we were in art class together when the twin towers got attacked and we were like you know what would be good idea so I write this song about it from I suppose a Islamic militants perspective? 😅 anyway we had to play our song at the highschool talent show right? Somehow none of this material is checked beforehand they just trusted us to not suck? Well they wrong we were going to suck so hard! It gets better, they want us to open the whole freaking show, of course their was a myriad of technical problems we had never played live before let alone in front of the whole school and staff and parents, but somehow we pretty much nailed it as much as nailing it could have gone at the time but looking back the performance might have been an unsettling way to start a talent show and I wish I could still remember the audience reaction because you can't see shit with lights in your eyes but we were a bit loud and screaming things like mecca and jihad jihad time for our holy war! But it was probably like 🤨. The next singer was named lindsey cardinale who went on to become one of the town heros after she placed twelfth on American idol, also there was a future world famous Elvis impersonator performance lol, but she completely stuffed it and said something along the lines of "I'm sorry folks can we start the song over that band before me got me completely messed up" 😬☠️
We actually tried out for the show again the next year but this time they made us perform beforehand then said no thanks lol

@niceMange Thanks so much for your comment, it was an awesome read XD I would pay to see footage of that if it exists because a bunch of high-schoolers screaming "JIHAD JIHAD TIME FOR OUR HOLY WAR" is SO FUNNY! That's actually way funnier than my story, I almost did a similar thing in school trying to make a band called "Crowd Decay" about public/school shootings, why do teenagers think like this?! XD The extra facts about the singer and the Elvis impersonator are really cool too! And fake Elvis' quote is gonna be stuck in my head dude that's classic

​@pennystowers6491 I know there were videos made of it, I remember seeing some one time, like it was a big auditorium with an announcer at a podium reading off all our names and interest, so there were cameras to capture the magic. But there is this video from at around that time with a version of the song keep in mind this was before like us having computer programs and stuff for recording and editing music

Props young dudes.....actually not bad. It was tight and I didn't hear any gaffs.....so, good on you. It's tough, we all gotta start somewhere.....trust me, I've been there. Congrats on having the balls to even get out there and do it. Most people will never know that.
