    Been using C100 Mk II for like 7 months now and even when buying it I knew it would stay with me for a long time, although there were other (and cheaper) options too. Now I am in a stage where I am able to expose properly, change the settings based on the situation easily and quickly, although slightly struggling nailing the focus properly, but that will come over time, I just need more practical experience. Still very solid camera and the one definitely worth considering even in 2021, if you're serious with the filmmaking (if I had a dime everytime someone told asked me why i don't use a mobile phone for the filming). And even if I buy a new one (C200/C300/C70) one day, C100 will be a perfect B-Cam.

    I bought your C100 tip guide and it had great tips and was a good perspective with your experience using this workhorse camera. I've tried to like Clog, but for me it just is a pain to expose and grade and I'm much happier just shooting in Wide DR. Until I can be 100% happy with a 4K camera upgrade I'm still sticking to my C100. For my work - mostly documentary, concerts and interviews that end up on CZcams/Vimeo it's still a very good camera.

    You have great solid tips - I'm current making my follow-up video conceding the C100 M2 is definitely obsolete in 2023 (and why I still shoot with it!). Just hard to go back to screwing on variable ND filters on every lens you own (let alone the cost) once you've had built-in NDs. I'm anxious to see the new Canon offerings, but nothing is cheap unfortunately. I still will probably hold onto my C100s (yes I own 2) because they're still great as a safety cam or for long presentations and concerts. This camera will always hold a place in my heart and Canon did an amazing job getting so much quality and gradability out of a 8-bit 4.2.0 codec

    Just got a C100 Mark II, something I’ve noticed is that in WDR you get these flickering strobe lines in your footage when shooting in lowlight underexposed. Not sure if this is normal or my camera is faulty. But you see the lines on your LCD even with the last cap on. Would you mind booting up your camera and see if you get the same thing. Just want to make sure before I decide to send it back.

    Hi Terry thanks for this video, ok for the Sigma 18-35mm, but how do you solve the follow focus on the faces? go to manual focus? because with moving subjects I find a bit of difficulty

    • @terryvideo
      @terryvideo  Před 3 lety +1

      No problem. I do a mix of manual and auto focus (I find autofocus to be effective 80% of the time) - from my experience, it definitely takes a bit of practice to follow subjects quickly with the c100 mark ii (not the best AF + face detection system compared to mirrorless cameras) When the subjects go out of the AF center or fails to focus, I quickly switch to MF to adjust

    Estou muito interessado na C100 Mark II e feito constantes pesquisas para entender se é a melhor opção para mim. Gosto muito da qualidade de imagem, do aspecto cinematográfico. Mas fico na dúvida quando vejo algumas gravações feitas com Sony Mirroless, como a A7III. Eu sei que são câmeras diferentes, com propostas diferentes, mas no Brasil os valores de ambas são praticamente iguais. Obrigado pelo vídeo!

    • @terryvideo
      @terryvideo  Před 3 lety +1

      The C100 Mark II and Sony Mirrorless are both awesome cameras and will get the job done. However, I'll always stick with the canon c100 mark ii for more pro gigs or longer shoots because of its reliability. If you're shooting documentaries or talking heads - the c100 mark ii is a really good camera. If you're shooting travel videos or a lot of landscapes - the sony is more flexible in that sense. I've worked with both and still prefer the Canon cinema line because it's built for videographers in mind.

    • @terryvideo
      @terryvideo  Před 3 lety

      Yes, that's possible depending on the lens that you have, probably 14 to 18mm with the aperture at f4.5. If you don't have a camera operator available - The Canon C100 Mk 2 only has autofocus in the center - face tracking is compatible with specific lenses but it isn't the best face tracking system in my opinion.

    • @terryvideo
      @terryvideo  Před 3 lety

      I would recommend you look at mirrorless cameras if you're doing a lot of self filming - the c100 mk 2 was built for someone to operate

    • @imagentv3768
      @imagentv3768 Před 3 lety

      I have mirrorless, dslr, gopro... our talk show will not only be inside in a talk show setting but also on the road where I will be operating it. When I use my 5D mk3, I don everything manual, can I do the same with the C100 mk2, can I adjust my focus manually to make sure every one is in focus. Someone told me that you can remotely operate it, that will be the perfect option for me.

      The Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 isn’t as fast with autofocus as a Canon lens. The Sigma is outstanding glass but the AF is a little noisy. Best 2 lenses in my opinion for the C100 MKII are the Sigma 18-35mm and Canon 17-55mm f/2.5 USM. If you can really control your lighting, Canon 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 STM/IS.
