Theres 5 plane crashes that were caused by wake vortexes/turbulences including AA587. The rest were: Aeroflot U-505 (Banked to the right sharply killing 9, YAK 40.) The aircraft that created the wake turbulence, CCCP-76482 (Ilyushin IL-76) 13th April 1987 Aerolineas Argentinas flight 670 (Dived into the ground uncontrollably, DC-4) Cause: Pilot's decision for going into a storm recklessly, causing the back of the plane to slowly break apart with also parts from the left wing. As for AA587, you can watch it on ACI since im kinda tired typing it. Same for USAIR 427 (that one 737 rudder hardover) and 2008 mexico city learjet crash.
AA587 isn't exactly caused by turbulence. More like the reason was improper pilot's reaction to it (Human factor) U505 - "...they took off without explicit permission to take off, in violation of procedure..."
