Whenever I see a Bengali doing really well and still proud of his/her root I feel so great and respectful towards the person. MR. RISHI PRATIM MUKHERJEE you owe the respect. Being away for some years from your root can never make you forget that and you showed it.. Your Bengali accent unlike some other Bengalis who forget the accent of their mother tongue after living somewhere else for 2-3 years sounds soothing to ears. Aha! Finally a Bengali who's Bengali enough! I'm so glad that this Bengali Family didn't change anything or modify any of the dishes. And also, the COO is well informed about his food, and a huge thanks to his Mother-in-law (I'll refer to her as Didun ❤). Didun cooked everything perfectly! I'm so glad to even watch how she maintained the authenticity of, say, Data diye Begun Bhaja. Even in our homes people just chop the Bengun into smaller pieces for convenience.
    Delicious homemade Bengali food! ❤
Thanks for not going into some fancy restaurant. They just always modify stuff and it's never the same as the food like one's Didun/Thamma/Maa would cook.

Daal has to be accompanied by a bhaaja, followed by a veg dish, then comes two types of fish at least, then chicken or mutton, a type of chutney (like the tomato one here) followed by payesh, doi and mishti. And has to be eaten in that order 😄. We bengalis live to eat.

I was skeptical about having it first but I am glad I had it ! It was good, though I couldn't eat the fish head properly. All the other Bengalis looked at me with such disappointment, I felt like I had failed miserably!
