Aha! Finally a Bengali who's Bengali enough! I'm so glad that this Bengali Family didn't change anything or modify any of the dishes. And also, the COO is well informed about his food, and a huge thanks to his Mother-in-law (I'll refer to her as Didun ❤). Didun cooked everything perfectly! I'm so glad to even watch how she maintained the authenticity of, say, Data diye Begun Bhaja. Even in our homes people just chop the Bengun into smaller pieces for convenience. Delicious homemade Bengali food! ❤ Thanks for not going into some fancy restaurant. They just always modify stuff and it's never the same as the food like one's Didun/Thamma/Maa would cook.

Its normal for us to have 7 items minimum. Daal has to be accompanied by a bhaaja, followed by a veg dish, then comes two types of fish at least, then chicken or mutton, a type of chutney (like the tomato one here) followed by payesh, doi and mishti. And has to be eaten in that order 😄. We bengalis live to eat.

I swear when i had that dish in Kolkata for the first time a few years back, i couldn't wrap my head around the fact that they had put a fish head in a daal ! I was skeptical about having it first but I am glad I had it ! It was good, though I couldn't eat the fish head properly. Hey Akshay, I am your punjabi bharaa but like you, I also have a special liking for Bengali cuisine - some of the dishes I like are Kosha Mangsho ( like all Punjabis, have a weakness for Mutton, Tandoori and Butter chicken), Malai Chingari, Bhetki fry Kolkata style, Chicken Bharta, Luchi with Alur Dom, and all Bengali sweets..... my mouth is already salivating, man!!!! Anyways, like your channel, keep posting such mouth-watering videos.
