3:06 that bus there is on loan to SV from sister company Salisbury Reds for additional school capacity. It was new to the Island in 2009 before moving to the mainland in 2018 when 16 new Enviro400MMC's came
Collingwood Road... All changed since I grew up there over 30 years ago. Also lived on Nelson Road for a few years too, it doesn't look as steep as I remember flying down it on a dodgy bike with no brakes!! 😂😂
9:53 this bus is the only Scania single decker in the fleet and is also the longest single decker. There are only 3 green liveried single deckers in the fleet with the rest being in vectis blue livery for the council school contract
Back in 1988 when i visited Isle of Wight with my school i noticed there werere a fleet of yellow school buses and the southern vectis buses were all green.
@@SuperIanjohnson That is amazing Ian, I only have 3, but I am building a model railway loosely based on Cowes station where we used to go as children to visit relatives in Gurnard. please have a look at my CZcams channel. t.co/wX4dNQqU2n?amp=1
Lovely video, kitti; glad to see the Old Girl again; haven't seen her for a while. Not at all boring for me, as a life time bus enthusiast, I would love a good look around there. Not many Vectis buses that I haven't seen now !
Love this. As part of my job, I spend quite a bit of time looking at Google Street View images all over the UK and, amazingly, I've "been" here, before, albeit some years ago. I love quirky places like this, with the 2nd access to the bus depot tucked into an otherwise residential area on a quiet one way street. Love seeing places like this. Sorry, I have a lot of vids of yours to catch up on, so had best get going. Thanks for the film, Kitti. xxx
Ventnor depot is long gone and the Ryde St Johns building was donated to the Island bus museum in 2014 but SV still park school buses outside in the yard

You don’t fancy a trip on the 32 do you? The Rew Street version would bring back happy memories, for me anyway!
