Your keyboard is the only one that really looks from this decade, every time I see a Yamaha or Roland screen with an OS that looks like win95 puaggg... I've been watching LOTS of videos since I discovered the MPCkey61 and this is by far the most significant one I've seen with regard to step-by-step and from start to finish in-depth instruction. I haven't purchased one yet because I wanted to make sure this keyboard has all the functionality that I am looking for. Until I saw this video I was not 100% sure I would buy one, but now I am absolutely sold. Thanks heaps for going through this is such great detail. This has really helped me with my purchase and will continue to help me as I learn, once I get my hands on one.

I bought one a week ago but I am still not sure if I spent my money wisely. I don't perform weird music requiring so many synthesized sounds and my objective is to create performances with the basic sound of the piano. I have been a soloist for 85% of my performance years nationally and internationally. I would love to travel with a lightweight keyboard that could fill my needs. I use Logic to create backing tracks so this would suffice.

But simplified back to simply making music than noodling with sounds all day. Which by the looks of it, one could do on this as well. Well done...
I Currently own the MPC X and the MPC KEY61. Both Controllers are very nice, this is what is so frustrating. I called akai pro, nobody could explain why they don't support multiple MPC controllers within MPC software, or VSTi. While there is Ableton Link or MMC, its just not the same as the USB connection and 32 virtual tracks through a single USB cable (MPCX). While I do all the preproduction in standalone, breaking out the standalone session in PT or Ableton over USB is just quicker.
Very impressed with mpc software. Really RAW, Really powerful! We once ran 56 VSTi and some were very CPU intensive. Ableton would never run this many VSTi. Kudos, AKAI. Love!
Just charge more for an additional VSTi plugin, so we can use more than 1 MPC within our workflows, Please. I would pay another $200. for a device specific VSTi.
This is not a complaint. 😎

If you, like me, have an audio interface and are not routing main out via channel 1/2 as per default . the touch strip fx will not work. That is because in the downloadable masterclass project, the touch strip fx is an insert effect on the main channel, and does not as the video suggests, 'just work'. Room for improvement right there. There is also a limiter on the main out set to the 'my output is too quiet' - preset.

This looks cool but does anyone know if Akai has a library of "stock sounds" - just common, useable, real-world sounds, not fancy or overly produced?

How do I configure the CV/Gate outputs? I know how to route them but I am not getting any Gate signals that are triggering external synths. One did trigger but it took 10 seconds to open up as if the signal had a very long Attack. Anyone know the deets?
