High schoolers who have a "adult/mature mindset" are still kids.
When faced with dificulty your true colours will show, 95% of them will crumble, it is what it is.
Yeah when I was a kid I thought I was mature too. I was only mature amongst my peers, not compared to all the adults in the world. They'll learn though, maturity comes through struggle in my case, which you won't gain until you're on your own as an adult.
Honestly after highschool and you start getting a job and paying rent and shit you mature quickly. And usually 99% of the shit that happened in highschool doesn't matter at all.
yup, everyone I know (including me) thought as soon as they could drive we were adults but even being 24, especially moving out and getting a job when there was a world wide pandemic reality hit pretty hard pretty quick and sometimes you just have to get out of bed on a bad nights sleep then commute, work, commute home. There are days when it feels like there is just 0 social interaction outside of ppl I work with, but even then its not a chatty environment. But ofc the money, the neighbourhood I now live in, the mates I still have, securing a better future for myself. Its all worth it ofc just hard for a lot of people to come to terms with (again me included it took me a while, I didnt move out at 18 and get a job straight away and when I did it took a decent amount of adjusting)
the definition of kid is just child/teenager. Doesn't matter if you're mature or not it just depends on how old you are

Oh yes, lets list a few things that might have improved in many parts of the world
- School buses, or some sort of public transportation
- internet, technology in general
- stricter rules as to how teachers need to treat students (physical punishments etc.)
- mental help facilities
- school lunches (established in 1946 in the US)
- racism, discrimination
- bigger gaps with wealthy and poor people getting education (still a problem, but not as bad)
Now, can we really say with a straight face that school is harder nowadays? (maybe if you live in the US with the 🔫violence and all o that)

@@myrech thing is, a lot of people who live with their parents are the type who don't have enough money to save up or whatever, which is why they moved in. But yes, living with your parents so you don't have to pay rent or something is nice but also what children do. Adults have to pay for themselves
