Fast forward to late January and I was getting a ton of email, almost all of it wanting me to pay to join some group so I have been dumping it unopened. I was cleaning up the email (again!) when the words engrave and acrylic caught my notice and I watched your video. It was about the night light. What have I been missing!!!! Hey, I just bought a cricut maker. I’ve made a few engravings on using 2x2” acrylic blanks. A few I’ve had worked out great, they were close to dead center. But I’ve made some today and it’s slight off on the sides. It’s engraving more to the left. In Design space it is all aligned center, along with my preview window. I even use the alignment method of creating a small dot at the x and y at .25” to compensate for that 1/4th boarder. And it’s worked but it’s failing me today. Idk you’ve had that problem before with graphics not lining up in the center from DS to machine/mat. Thanks!

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 3 lety

      Yes I have definitely had this issue. If it is consistently off, I would just adjust your blank for that each time. If it is not consistent, look at other things that may be different, a mat that is slightly different in size, the way you are loading it, the material setting, etc.

    Hi Angie, thank you so much for all your wonderful videos! For engraving on acrylic, I understand that doing the outline is the best, however if I have an image that has a couple parts that need to be "filled in", will the engraving tool do that? I'm hoping it will be like drawing, where it will just go back and forth a bunch of times to fill in the area. Or maybe a better example would be like block letters....would the tool move back and forth within the block letters or will it only go around the outside of them? (hopefully I'm explaining that correctly lol)

    • @AngieHolden
      @AngieHolden  Před 10 měsíci +1

      There is no option to do that in design space. You can find fonts that do that or trick design space with a fill pattern.

      So design space uses your design to determine what materials will work. If you have say a score line, then it thinks you can't possibly want acrylic. More than likely something is making it not appear.
