@9.57 that moment that makes a coach smile. Top bin with perfect technique. As a kids football (soccer) coach I have been looking for drill and ideas to teach this shot to kids. This is by far the best video I have seen on youtube. I would like to thank you very much for taking the time to post this. I post this from a part of the world where an amazing amount of children take part in football. Thank you. Greg (Liverpool UK). I also notice that the kids are training with a smile on their face and clearly enjoying what is quite a technical session. Full credit that is so good to see.
I was coaching for past 2 years for girls team and wasn't able to recognise how teach them shooting .This made my doubts clear . Thank you for sharing the knowledge
My daughter had absolutely no power behind her kick and we watched this video together and she tried it outside. Immediate improvement in her leg power. Here in the US her coaches are horrible because they're really Baseball, Basketball or American Football coaches first. Luckily, in the US there are training schools by the Dutch, Barcelona and Brazil that teach this sport properly. We have her signed up for Dutch soccer in NJ and it's a MAJOR improvement over the local community soccer clubs.
Great video, thanks Two additional adjustments / tips that I find usefull : - "Watch the ball when you kick". Looking down to the ball helps keeping upper body above the ball at ball contact, better power, you don't "fall on your back" and kick it at 5 m high - "Foot pointing down" And it's important that we understand that technic is more important than strengh, relaxed shots are often more powerfull than "full power" shots. But it is not that easy to remain relaxed...
One missing point, which is a little difficult with their static approach, is to lean your weight toward that foot a little. Their balance is controlled by the arm but if you look at the pictures you google, leaning gives you balance too. It also gives you room to your kicking foot.
you have to find the correct timing for putting your arm out for balance and tightening your abs before kicking. if you swing your left arm up to the side, tighten your abs, then kick, you'll have better balance. the just keep practicing arm up tighten ab. improve you coordination by practicing it a lot.
I am watching this again and again for my son

Lesson 0: It is football.
And the thing you call football is played by hands!
is good
now I know
Humm my issue is lack of balance when left foot works as the planting foot
