Alan Kohler: Boral share prices fell like a ton of its bricks in late November after the company announced it was spending 3.5 billion dollars buying an American business a bit like itself called Headwaters Inc.
Kane: Certainly in Australia investors did not have Headwaters on their radar screen.
Alan Kohler: Retail shareholders have until this Friday to whether to go for the entitlement offer.
Kane: In the downturn and the collapse after the GFC while Boral’s bricks business was haemorrhaging cash Headwaters was making money throughout the downturn.
