In Vodou, when we call the Lwa they come down and they mount a vodouyizan, priest or priestess. To be mounted is to be temporarily possessed by the spirit / to carry them in your head, and allow them use of your body. This creates a strong spiritual connection within the physical realm which enables the Lwa to extend their energy more completely, and for us to connect with the Lwa more fully.
