Hans Zimmer is doing the soundtrack for the upcoming Dune movie out later this year - I hope he has listened to this track and has drawn influence from it, amazing! 👍
Hans Zimmer was not at all inspired by the original score. The movie toiled on with pretty standard cinematic scoring. Together, what a disappointment for us fans of the original.
Too abrasive, this fits the tone perfectly, its hauntingly beautiful, some sadness knowing the tragic future of the couple and their children who will never live normal lives
@@sirene1164 personally i think Zimmer did a good job, the soundtrack was haunting but also very violent in some parts, reminiscing of the massive war unleashed by Paul throughout the story. I also really liked the use of the singer screaming in a made up language, was kinda unexpected during some scenes but it added to the general feeling of the movie
Every time I start to read a new WH40k book tied into the Imperial side. I always play this as I read that infamous intro into the 40k universe. Some reason this fits perfect with reading that intro every damn time! Love 80's DUNE! Love Toto!

They will never top this.Epic.Possibly the best movie soundtrack ever.To me at least.My hopes arent too high for the new movie im afraid.Maybe they followed the book more closely but i doubt the result will be as good,plus they lack the stellar cast of this old classic.One of my favorite movies of all time since the first time i saw it back in the 80s.Watching it countless times as a kid with my dad (who loved the Alia scenes btw)everytime i watch this movie its like i can hear his remarks about it.I miss you dad...."The sleeper must awaken"...

Zimmer has done an exceptional job of weaving in subtle yet very well realized nods and references to Toto's score.
I'm crying and feeling that this music represents The Creator's love.

I missed this song in the new Dune movie.
The music is beautiful but it simply does not match the movie style of the new productions.
TOTO played a version of this in one of their big shows. It was AMAZING!! Steve Luk on guitar - haunting good.
