That Jupiter has a problem with the transmission, I guess, from observing how it is sounding. Please try with a better, well maintained vehicle. An internal combustion engine needs to develop its rpm, before the load is fully applied to the crankshaft, so that the engine is in its power band, where the full HP capacity is available. If the centrifugal clutch as well as the belt is worn out, it will show, when you expose the vehicle to such harsh, torque hungry conditions. Since, this is a gearless, automatic transmission, the role of the variator and the automatic, centrifugal clutch, play a pivotal role in extracting the full potential of that engine, to successfully deliver positive results. But on another note, for all the Hype that Ather has put into its transmission (double belt) design and claimed motor power, it is not doing enough, up that climb. DC motors have a Flat torque curve and therefore do not need any clutch setup in between itself and the wheels. It looks like the controller is Set, in such a way that the full HP of the motor is not released, because the motor is NOT rated for the claim Ather is advertising, knowing full well, that no one among the users is going to really check it out on a Dynamometer. This is my personal inference only.

@Aswin Biju Listen young man, I'm in this field for over 35 years (Power electronics) and vehicles have been my passion, from the early 80's and now, and I have absolutely no need to be against (frustrated) Ather for no reason. I have been following Ather from their very early stages, especially on their transmission design and right then, I told my colleagues and friends, that it was a STUPID idea to have a double belt arrangement on an EV because it robs precious energy, which will only affect the range and now, after so many months, very slowly, people are beginning to realise the issue. Ather's mechanical design is engineered for over Hyped, performance, mainly aimed at amusing the upper class youngsters, who are mainly focusing on Pickup and smart looks. Its natural, because I remember my younger days, when we too had such crazy ideas, but then petrol was cheap and nobody cared about fuel economy. So what I can confidently say here is that Ather is not designed for the common consumer in mind, at all. And on top of all this, it is ridiculously expensive, because they're not looking for the middle class market, very much. They are greedy and want to make a killing in profits, while the demand exists. They are trying very hard to build a premium brand image, which doesn't seem to going very much in their favour, these days. And lastly, I worked for the better part of my Career (27 years starting 1988) in the Middle East, where I got to drive vehicles, which were hardly seen or non existent in India, at the time. So please don't try to lecture me, from your very limited perspective and maybe due to your frustration because you're presumably an Ather owner yourself. Thank you.
