    You hit all the points except one. The SOUND is unmistakable. I can afford anything I want. I bought a Harley because the sound is music to my ears. I can tell one a mile away.

      As an engineer and someone who has worked on motorcycles for 46 years, I personally find the sound horrible, they all sound like they need a decent tune up to stop all the popping and banging in addition to the mechanical noise. I own 11 motorcycles so would have a Harley if I wanted one, I think my background of growing up in Europe and riding there for many years means I just don't get the Harley thing, we seem to value power, lightweight and handling much more - very different roads. But each to their own, it's a good thing we have so much choice, so everyone can find what works for them.

    The number one reason I ride Harley is the aftermarket support, period! I had a 19 Indian scout bobber in the garage for about 18 months, it was for my wife. Had a pipe on it. I called it the mustang sound of motorcycles. It sounded amazing and it was fast! But imo you just couldn’t make it your own like you can a Harley.

    I bought my first Harley recently. Why? Because it’s a comfortable, good looking bike with good real world performance. It has an aesthetic that is hard to go past. It has a lot of character right off the bat. Most importantly it is just very enjoyable to ride. I have owned bikes from all the big 4 Japanese companies, a KTM, a Ducati and a couple of Moto Guzzis. All the companies make great bikes that do what they were designed to do very well. None of them are Harley Davidson’s though. If you want the Harley experience, you hae only one choice.

    I've had many bikes, my wife thought i was nuts because i decided to buy a modified, old but very nice 2004 sportster. I put a Memphis shades detachable windshield on it, saddleman seat,and Harley saddle bags. I've had more fun on that bike than i ever would have imagined. I've ridden 12 hour straight on it with zero problems! my gas mileage isn't the greatest because it's a little hopped up, but that's ok. It's just a damn fun machine! Not the biggest or fastest bike I've owned, but it definitely makes me smile. I will never sell it, but i may add an ultra glide soon.🤘😎 Respect to all that ride! Enjoy!

    2021 Harley Street Glide
    2014 Harley Dyna Wide Glide
    2009 Harley Rocker C
    2009 Harley Tri Glide Ultra Classic (Wife's)
    I have now found my brand but i am glad i have experienced all the others, it makes e appreciate what i have now even more.

    I bought a harley because I grew up around harleys and bikers, so that shaped what I wanted out of a motorcycle.
    I looked all around the industry and just 2 companies made the exact bike that I wanted. Indian and Harley.
    Then Indian stopped making the bike I wanted.
    So I bought a harley because they were the only company that made a bike that checked every single checkbox I had.
    I love my 2018 Fat Boy 114, and I've been trying to make videos about it.

    I’m an Harley-Davidson addict!!! I own 4 …..recently purchased a Road glide st! Been a fanatic for a long time! I agree with a lot of what you talked about! But I see a decline of the true Harley-Davidson a bit! The CEO is a German! And they’re catering a bit to the non Harley rider! They need to stick to that Heritage and stop trying to appeal to the people that aren’t real Harley-Davidson fans! My point is ,,,! Don’t change! Stay old school! That’s what they should be doing! They need to get rid of the CEO and get back to what’s real!!! Luckily they Have the Road Glide and Street Glide saving their asses! But they are going into a direction that they shouldn’t be! Like the off road crap. And. Getting rid of the sporty!!! They need to bring back the Night Train and build some more old school shit!

    The modern Harley-Davidson Big Twin look and engine both happened in 1936 with the "61 OHV" model EL Knucklehead. When they ditch that tradition like they just did with the traditional Sportster, Harley-Davidson will be DEAD.

    • @carlbruhn1772
      @carlbruhn1772 Před rokem

      It would be hard to believe they would try that. Perhaps adding touring models with the revolution set up. Otherwise they are just another choice in the market

      Exactly. Only the 1936 tradition that sets them apart from China, Japan, etc. You're probably right about HD retaining it while adding a water-cooled tourer, but then who thought they would kill off the Sportster? At least it surprised me.

    Hmm... Year is 1998... BACKLOGGED WITH ORDERS, HD needs $$$ for products, GERMANS have 1) NEW Porsche-design for future emissions, the 1250 and 2) Has $$$$ Harley AMERICAN management does NOT push NEW bike, design [temporarily fails] designers CONTINUE to push-up against Euro 5, 6 and the US EPA on Emissions; AMERICAN managers CLOSE Kansas City Assembly, after the GERMANS paid for ALL the tooling for ALL PRODUCTS at ALL FACILITIES!!!!
    WOW.
    American HD engineers get HIRED to(?) BMW for NEW bike ??? GERMANS kick-out AMERICAN managers, 1250 platform grows Milwaukee Operations CLOSED. Hmmm.....sounds like GoodFellas restaurant scenes...

  • @HISVOICE4LIFE
    @HISVOICE4LIFE Před rokem

    Its simple…your an HD fan. I am not. My number #1 thing I dislike about HD is the culture….there is a TON of negative surrounding HD.
    Number #2 is everyone rides an HD…..and in that angle…i like to be unique and rather ride an Indian per say.
    Number #3 HD’s are shiny and flashy and that could be deceiving to many including YOU. But the fact is…these bikes are not reliable, and built cheap and are expensive.
    Number #4 finally…..HD is losing big…i will HD another 3-5 years before the market…people turn on them….they are bleeding people….HD is losing the market it once had by the balls….Indian is coming strong, even BMW is taking a shot at the bagger/touring market….
    My 2cents.

    • @carlbruhn1772
      @carlbruhn1772 Před rokem +1

      Reliable was victory until Polaris dropped it. I value the secondary market and parts availability over anything Polaris may market.

    • @HISVOICE4LIFE
      @HISVOICE4LIFE Před rokem

      But Victories are basically what Indian is today…..Indians are more reliable.
      As i said in my previous comment. HD has the aftermarket by the balls….but you know the old say: Everything the goes up….will eventually come down….and HD has its days numbered…unless they manage to change their ways and realize that the culture they created…needs to change. No more old farts enjoying their prostate massaged by shaky motors…no more old dated engines….and more reliable bikes.
      They are being sued by HD owners as we speak for crying out loud. Like i said……numbered days.
      3-5 years indian will catch up and start to dominate. One dies, the other one lives.
