    The pink foam board you get at Home Depot is a much better foam to use... sometimes you can find blue foam board but that come from Lowe’s .. I always use the pink board cause I just like it better for some reason .. you can use white foam.. but it’s made with the little pellets and you can always see the texture of the pellets in your finished product.. plus it’s VERY messy to work with and it will break easier then he blue or pink foam ... the pink foam board comes in 2x2 squares for like 5 or 6 bucks ... plus you can get it cheaper is if you buy the 4x8 sheets and cut it down to size to store... plus the 4x8 sheets come in many different thicknesses... also I love how the pink foam takes paint... also I use big flats stones like for landscaping and push into the foam to get lots of different textures..aluminum foil rolled into huge balls hen flatten also makes great textures for foam ...

      Yes thank you for the info my friend, and yes I do wanna get blue/pink foam but it's hard for me to get them in Malaysia, in my area here, the best we can get is this THP foam and other blue foams requires shipping from outside of Malaysia and usually the shipping cost much much more than the product itself due to the size and weight, so I gotta work with what I have 😔

    Wow Great work man. Keep it coming. Question : What kind of spray paint do you use for the black wash for the pavement? Doesn't the normal spray paint dissolve (eat into) the foam? I tried spraying with it, that's what happened.

    • @PatrickOhm
      @PatrickOhm  Před 6 lety +2

      Lee Cherh thanks alot for your encouraging words, anyway to answer your question, I actually use various types of spray paint, as long as they r cheap and simple to be honest, yes it will eat up the foam like acid, but:
      1 : don't hit the nozzle and spray the whole thing, one-two second max, spray from left to right, count up to 2 seconds, quick swipe with spray paint.
      2 : go light, for example, if you wanna spray black on white, follow method 1, and you will see a very thin layer, it will look grey at first, but just let it sit for 5 seconds maybe? Then another layer, and keep on going till its the color you desire.
      3 : most important rule, don't spray too closely, the distance from your spray can to the foam should at least be 10-12cm away and it will all be okay..
      Good luck 👌🏼 hope this helps 😀

The vertical drain pipe and 90 degree ant the end over the grate, it looks way out of scale to me for some reason. Except for those two things it looks real good! Good Job!

      Patrick Ohm I've heard some sealants eat the foam. I'm just starting to do this, so I'm trying to research but a lot of the info is contradictory. Any general examples you could give? I went and bought a couple different ones from a photo sealer to mod podge spray and now I'm scared to use either. Not that I can't tinker with them, but I hate being wasteful. Hehe

    • @PatrickOhm
      @PatrickOhm  Před 6 lety

      Katji Romero hmmm I guess this matter is pretty subjective as we both are using different paints and foam, maybe before u damage your hard work with spray, maybe do like I do, cut out small pieces of foam and test out the paint before you paint it on your real work and damage it if paint doesn't work out

    • @PatrickOhm
      @PatrickOhm  Před 3 lety

      Yes, well its so that I can make sure my colored layers would look darker later, if i were to paint on the white foam straight away, the colour would be too light and by layering a coat of black before you paint, you can actually make the cracks look more obvious
