  • There was a bit of scandal between Harry S. Truman and the newly-minted President Eisenhower as Harry left the White House. But from the Washington, DC, train station, all the way back to Independence, Missouri, Harry was greeted with the smiling faces of grateful Americans. At the end, Harry and Bess stand side by side as Harry addresses the Missourians who came to pay their respects.
