Any sign of something significant that requires better analysis/equipment we jump on a plane to BKK and see the specialists there. Its not hard.

I spent the month of March in Pattaya, maybe I'm weird but I didn't think it was "all that", It's a bit like a adult fair ground, obviously that's fine with most but I just felt it was totally fake, an entire city with a plastic population, |'m glad I did other things, elephant sanctuary, sanctuary of truth, water market, street food, temples and walked for a million miles to explore other things, Jomtiem is actually much nicer in my humble opinion. Great to see the huge difference in your cognitive awareness! It's great to see after seeing Nick Dean having to talk for you back in Thailand! keep going Eddie, and your right... life is to short!
absolutely right im not coming back done it 5 times in the last 2 years and the last trip proved to me u have to go else where now the quality is no longer there in the bars and go gos and 200 baht for a lady drink is adios pattaya its past its sell by date time to move on to pastures new .i did the same as you just spent alot of time in pratumnak at the buda temple the mountain views tops because the qualitys in the bars no longer there.

About Pattaya, well there is now visa free for two months, and most go back there no matter how they scoff at it. And if it is too much excitement, Jomtien is 20 minutes away where it is quieter.

Eddie there is now a 180 visa available from this month called a DTV (destination Thailand Visa) once issued it is valad for 5 years. Among the requirements is proof of finance (500,000 thai baht in bank) No health insurance required for the visa. With this visa you can stay for 180 days leave and return for another 180 days. (multiple re-entry) As i say valid for 5 years. Only available from Thai embassies, not available inside Thailand. Not sure of all the details but you should check it out. Also being called " The Nomad visa"
I think you will find the following applies. 1) You can’t get a work permit with this visa. 2) You have to have a reason for this visa. If it is a digital worker you need a contract of employment from your foreign employer or a professional portfolio and because you can’t get a work permit you can only work for foreign companies/ clients. Other reasons are what they call Soft Power Activities which include Muay Thai or Cooking courses, receive medical treatment etc. So you going to have show proof of this. 3) How often you have to prove the above is up to the Thai authorities and I doubt they will be checking when you re-enter at the border but if you apply for an extension that means your going past the 180 days and becoming a tax resident and they could want proof above or refuse your extension. The reason I say this is Thailand guideline for days on tourist status has always been 180 days (Until a few years ago it was a max of 90 days in any 6 months). 4) The above could effect Thailand based YTers++ (++ being promoting sponsors, selling merchandise, courses, consultations etc) as why should they continue to get a free ride while the rest have to play by the rules. 5) The above makes it clear Thailand is not classing working for foreign companies/clients on business outside Thailand as Thailand sourced income but Thailand sourced income is defined as - Any income created as a result of an activity taking place in Thailand in the same calendar year it is received, regardless of where it is paid and the recipient’s tax resident status (Source - Personal Income Tax On Thai vs Foreign Sourced Income ACCLIME THAILAND). I doubt Thailand are going to be interested in YTers who don’t do ++ and are not in Country long enough to be tax resident but they might start showing an interest in YT++ tax resident ones. The tax rule change started from 1st Jan and once anybody crosses the 180 day line they can’t step back. Singles/Couples with income if 120K/220K have to file a tax return. Filing a false return or failing to file has penalties and if no tax return has been filed the statute of limitations is 10 years (Source - How To File Your 2024 Income Tax In Thailand EXPATICA).
Get yourself a condo in Pratumnak for 3 months for btwn 10K and 15K baht per month. You can take a quick trip to Koh Chang/Samet and leave your heavy suitcase in your condo. Same with trips to Siem Reap, Saigon, Luang Prabang. Traveling is so much easier that way. And you save a lot of money by not having to check a bag. And best of all, you have a place to come back to. The paid health services in Siem reap is no worse than where you ended up Ed. Pattaya is not for us married men. This wasn't caused by diet. This maybe your 10th week in hospital but you spent many of those weeks in that Thai hospital with nothing happening. I'm not sure why you just want to go to Pattaya now, my wife and I are bowel cancer patients (bowel) and I also had/have lymphoma. We still go to Cambodia.
