Never read the manga only watched the anime and Black Star was always still my favorite character. Seeing what he actually became in the story is so dope to me

Blackstar is probably the embodiment of will. In the final fight Tsubaki mentioned that his spine was broken which would render anyone unable to move but Blackstar got up with his fucking MUSCLES ALONE
The authors art style evolved so much, with him making fire force and soul eater a shared story he really should remake soul eater. He is one of the few mangakas with an intricate art style, that amazing 2000's action manga sharpness with amazing character poses and frames. I think a remake be amazingly cool.
You can really feel the inspiration for Arthur when you recap black star.
When I watched soul eater as a kid, man blackstar was definitely my favorite along with soul.

Black star needed enchanted sword + whole new arsenal to beat mifune who just used his signature sword style and some traditional katanas . I knew mifune was strong but hes seriously etrong as biggest shots of the show . Gotta give dome credits to this side character lol.
Good video but the only problem is that at the beginning you stated that White Star was killed because he consumed human souls, this however is not true in the manga where only weapons can eat souls. The anime changed this rule and even came up with the idea of "Kishin Eggs" which didn't exist in the mange, people were targeted because they were on Death's list not because they ate souls. The whole reason Asura ate his weapon Vajira and Ragnarok was melted into Black Blood and injected into Crona was so that they would be able to eat souls and become a Kishin.

The anime differs from the manga right after the battle against Mosquito for the brew. I forgot which chapter that was, I think it was between 35-40

I swear everytime a conversation about raw hands no hacks comes up between strong anime characters my boy BlACK star gets left out.
He could easily wash someone like ichigo or Goku. Naruto would probably match him.

And yes I legitimately think Goku especially modern versions have absolutely god awful Martial skills. Regardless of what the verse says. I don't think a single fight has actually been animated properly since the 90s

Black Star's name is Black. Because his father's name is White Star. And the clan Black Star is from is called the Star clan. So Black Star's first name is Black.

Yeah ngl read the manga and never really got the vibe he matured. Somehow only ever felt like I was reading some dudes fuckin fanfic oc
He did mature though. Physically and mentally. He was hyperactive at first. He didn't know what path he should choose, and his defeat against Mifune took a hit on his confidence, so he was on the verge of choosing the path his father took, the path of a demon. Kid brought him back to his senses and Black Star then went on a trip to prepare himself for his last fight against Mifune, where he ends up choosing the path of a warrrior and killing Mifune after a hard fight. Black Star then becomes a lot calmer, he changed, and when Kid was influenced by the madness, Black Star beat sense into him. Black Star also constantly helps Maka and was angry at Crona because she hurt Maka with the betrayal. The manga showed Black Star's backstory, which explained who raised him and why he wants to surpass the gods. Maybe you could see Black Star's development better if they adapted the manga fully into a anime.
@@hibikikyu like I said. I read the manga. Didnt change the taste in my mouth at all and it still felt like his "maturity" was done in a very ad hoc manner. Absolutely didnt feel earned and he remains the worst character for me.

Black Star developed from a hyperactive kid who's talking big words to a warrior god who has gotten calmer, smarter, etc. And that didn't come out of nowhere. His development has been build up since his introduction since that's where he also meets Mifune, who he fights 3 times across the story. Black Star and Kid's rivalry has also been build up, Kid was the perfect rival for Black Star since he's the son of the Death God and Black Star wants to surpass ths gods. So there's parallels like Kid bringing Black Star back to his senses when he was on the verge of choosing the path of all demon, and Black Star bringing Kid back to his senses when he was influenced by madness. How could you say that Black Star's development didn't feel earned? It took 50 chapters for him to change into a calmer person. Just look at the Black Star from the beginning and then the Black Star during and after his last fight against Mifune. He kept his upbeat personality but he became way calmer. There are several moments where he's very serious and the straight man. I don't understand how he's the worst character to you. Black Star had the most development out of all the Soul Eater characters. The worst Soul Eater character is Excalibur or Medusa, if anything.
