This dude for real playing a saxophone through a guitar amplifier? Holy fucking shit!
I moved to Chicago to become a Chef. I was at this show. I remember being so damn psyched and proud to get there and see that they were all wearing Black Chef coats. Cause I thats what I wore every damn day! I bulldozed my big black ass right to the front and never moved. Still one of my favorite shows ever.
mac flapalicious my one buddy tie-dyed a chef jacket, and wears it quite a bit at shows
Bless you and your big black ass! I hope the chef gig is treating you well
Peace
Killer story Bro! Wish I'd been there- Love me some Discipline!
mac we still want free food
It was meant to be.

Man that old CT bass is just a million times better than the ones les plays now. Different era
That saxophone player is incredible. God damn, this band is wonderful.
~Skerik is his namo!~
Check out critters buggin that’s the band he started. Awesome weird
All of the Primus work, Solo Les work, numerous jam bands and collaborations, the section in Ding Dang at 23:20 is for me the best riff Les ever wrote. Its absolute filth.
Eh, hard to beat Tommy the Cat.
~"Southbound Pachyderm" for me is Les's best ever riff, and I think that they all suck so fucking good!😜~
I accidently discovered Primus in the late 90's as an opening band and have ever since then been HOOKED! I was lucky enough to see The Frog Brigade around 2003 in Sacramento where the played Pink Floyds Animals entire album and it was AMAZING!
Has there ever been a better concert experience for you since then? I loved their Animals Set
Who did you see that they opened for? Lol
@@lodieritas8739 that was one of if not the best show I've ever experienced. I went alone too. Nobody I was around would go with me, they never heard of them blah blah blah. I didn' care though
@@bubett7036 right cause I seen them headline the Pork Soda Tour with The Melvins, I think, opening. I think that was 93? 94 the latest. Hard to imagine them opening in the late 90s. Its not impossible either tho lol.
They’re back and going to tour animals
shades of Zappa in here!! I'm 69 and loving the invention and skill levels!
I was just remarking to my wife about the Zappa/Claypool similarities. Love them both 👍
so glad I'm a primus fan, never would've heard this if I wasn't. Thank you primus, and thank you whoaduderighteous for the upload! amen lol
thank you for listening. Thank you all the people who recorded all the shows I have up. I just find them and put them here, I very much appreciate the work of the tapers.
Skerik absolutely kicks ass on saxophone
+Fretless_ness Yes sure
+Skerik73 Especially on the live version of Girls for Single Men
+Fretless_ness right you are he's super original and innovative with the sax i'v never seen anyone play like him
This might be the best Thela I've heard
I was just thinking the same thing!
Wow! I was at this concert! My first trip to Chicago with my then boyfriend, now husband!
It's like mixture of a liquid made of the best candies ever and liquified diamonds drank by my ears... Pure delight!!!
Great fucking audio man! Nice job!
I am not the taper. Thanks to those that do quality work like this though.
All I can say is "Whoa Dude! Righteous!"
HOLY COSMIC HIGHWAY...AMAZING
14:16 "You are a God!"
haha yeah, that was awesome... Les totally kicked it into hyper-psychefunkydelic drive after that too
That’s a bad thing
right as I read your comment I heard the guy say it. good thing I'm not stoned.
Probably one of the best live shows you'd ever see. Hasn't been the same since
Simply Amazing
yeah claypool kids!!!!
that sax solo ...38 min mark .. fire that was pure fire
taste the rainbow, ride the glory
Saw Les Claypool with the Frog Brigade at the Cleveland Agora back in 02... May have been 03, but anyway, they were amazing... So talented. It was unforgettable, as Whoever Les plays with, is. Check him out with Fungus...
watching some of my fav musicians cover some of my other fav. musicians music is so enjoyable to me don't get much better!!
This is golden stuff right here
I still come back to watch this video almost monthly! May be one of my favorite Claypool projects!
yup, still going strong, tossing in some recent Claypool Lennon shows too for good measure
@@michaelcristoferi6845 ~"Delirium", get it right, now!😉~
holy shit nice bass :D
Awesome footage!
it's great fucking wild funky. What e great show.
GREAT
Cool to open with a cover of King Crimson.
Claypool was having some *technical* difficulties for a minute there during "Thela Hun Ginjeet"; playing it off like a boss as always!!! HaHa!! .... But seriously though, somebody probably got fired that day...
P.S. Thanks *Woahduderighteous* for the awesome upload!
Les. The best!!!
~"Les" is "More"!!!😜~
Giving Props to King Crimson is Awesome. :)
Dan Novik . He should hook up with Adrian.
Thanks, I've seen Adrian play five times. Just got turned on to Les.
So pumped to hear about the new tour! I finally get to see FFB in Tampa! See you June 20!!!
Pretty stoked myself
I’m so psyched for this show. Funny thing is that I live in the Tampa area but I’m gonna catch them in Houston with some old friends instead.
Always a dangerous sort of sound. Like something is going to come crashing through the door and get you, lock the friggin door ...:-)
Dude of Bass A Tude!
I've always thought if Larry ever had to leave Primus for some reason, Brian Kehoe would be the perfect replacement. He's played in a bunch of different projects with Les, and he can play that Primus guitar sound perfectly.
Sounds about right; Kehoe was in a band called M.I.R.V. that played with Primus all the time back in the day
Wicked!
There was also an Is It Luck? tease at 1:35:30.
Sick Critter's Tease @ the 12ish minute mark
Soaring on this Sonic Sea
that's what I call music
Anyone got any leads on music like this that'll be out and about once the 'rona wraps up? This is unreal. Would go to great lengths to see such talent live. Can't stop the funk.
~Primus doing Farewell To Kings all next year. And, oh, have you heard Delirium yet?🤔~
Oysterhead(members of Primus, Phish, and the Police) will also be at the Sweetwater music fest at the end of April. It'll be in Georgia if you wanna look up the deets.
That would be Les Claypools Bastard Jazz. On tour now. Playing the Ford theater west Hollywood this Friday. Extra ticket if you wants.... 😀
came for the claypool got hooked on the kehoe
forgot how good carl thompson sounded . les on fire
I am late to the game, heard this band for the first time today. Sounds like a cool merging of Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention and Primus.
If I had to describe Les Claypool's style and music it'd be "blue collar funk"
I love you
not enough people are smart enough to understand real talent thats why only 1k likes
" I'm never gonna do it without my Fez on.." your chance..
I have a buddy who ate a bunch of shrooms and went to one of these shows and skerik scared him he saw fire coming out of the saxophone
Oh man, I could imagine shrooming to this... I've got a new mission in life...
Man thats sounds like a hell of a lot of fun lmao
Alot of his music is written, I believe while they consume shrooms and herbs.
@@cannybiz325 ~As someone who might have/could have/probably/most certainly have, sold Les a mighty fine bag of "Fun Guys" , I can attest to the validity of this statement!🍄🍄🍄😜~
I don't see no flying frogs (said in the style of Clark Griswold's father-in-law).
Les Paul's Fearless Flying Rose Bridge :) (Yes, I know, normally Les Paul has tune-o-matic).
Miss Eenor in the lineup.
Who the hell would unlike this?!
trocksacto 3 people
Filip Tomic idiots that is who
People with the gift of hearing.
Fuck yeah
I still like them as primus.
So how many bands has les claypool formed now? Every video is a different band lol
wowee zowie zippity doo.
Buckethead is Marty Freidman...
THEFUCKINGKIDSATHEND
heres the origin of the clip loudwire used in their top bassists video, cool solo but 100% not showing Les' full potential
Can we get some damn timestamps please?
What song is he playing at 1:23:00??
can someone timestamp this?
what the hell is that instrument Les is playing towards the end of the first tune?!? I thought it was his Aria upright at first, but it looks like some weird single-stringed deal..... anyone know??
It's called the Whamola, do a search for it on wikipedia.
@@GStricke yeah, pretty sure Les created it.
Jin bush
@@SpeedyCanuck ~Pretty sure that you are pretty damn correctamundo, hombre!~
so F@cking Freaky!
I Know You’re Safe. But I’m Not Sure If I’m Safe😕😕😕😕😕😕😕💀
They should of stayed together. Bummer.
Isnt thela hun ginjeet a king crimson song
Well yeah, this is a cover lol
El audio está super malo
no se escucha la voz de Les
ni la de los otros vocalistas. Qué pena.
AnTONIOazPitarTE anda a otro vídeo y no jodas xd
You Rock Les Claypool. I Am Delinquent Disciple. Can’t Do Slap Bass. You’re A Freakin Genius Psyco Nut Shell Cracked Head Gasket Outside Of All Cases And All Other Basses. Check Me Out. Chris Crowell Delinquent Disciple Schizo Christo. A Number 11 Myself.
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Do you know where America is mentioned in the Bible ??????? Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!!
This ain't the Frog Brigade. No Paul, no Eenor, no Jeff=The Fancy Band with guitar instead of sitar and the Whales and Woe tunes replaced with the covers you see before you.
The Fancy Band started before the Whales and Woe record, too, rendering your point moot. With Kehoe, if anything, this is Fancy Twang. Who cares what they called it at the time.
Cool.
~It was most definitely billed as such, the ticket stubs said so, so you are WRONG! FFFB is Les and whomever he sees fit to funk out with.😉😜~
And you all think Primus sucks, THIS SUCKS!
I love how Les Claypool is a bass genius yet no one has pointed out that he plays the bass riff to Thela Hun Ginjeet wrong...
ponchred It’s his own version. He doesn’t need to play the exact same original bass line
@@zacharymorin5696 He doesn't, but it's still wrong. Thanks for playing.
@@zacharymorin5696 Also, you don't get to have 'your own version' of another artists material. It's either correct or wrong.
ponchred Wow. I usually give other fans respect, but you don’t deserve it at all. Primus is an amazing band, Les Claypool is a bass genius (one of my main inspirations as a fellow bassist), and King Crimson is one of my all time favorites (having just seen them live a few months ago). Who are you to say that you don’t get to have your own version? Have you ever heard of an arrangement of a song, dumbass? Everything else about the song was very clearly different, so I’m not really sure what you’re getting so worked up about
@@zacharymorin5696 Well it's a good thing I don't give a shit whether you give me respect or not. Have your own version, but at least admit you're doing it wrong and that you probably can't play the original.
I'm sure the Irony will be lost on all the Primus fanboys but this truly did fucking suck. Not it in a good way either. This was truly awful.
if you made it through this entire video without eating a bullet....congrats....
Lol. Pretty sure we all did and it was quite easy.
~Did you need me to load it for you?🤔😜~
somebody's off key
Thumbs down!
Primus sucks!
Primus does suck, but why thumbs down?
Thumbs down to go along with the slogan 'Primus sucks' from Claypool's quote; '''We're Primus and we suck!'' The thumbs down is to reinforce with the quote. Like-minded Primus fans will downvote.
Sheldon LaBean your an idiot. That is the saying, "Primus sucks." You don't seem to quite get it. People have been chanting it at the shows since the 80's and still do it. It's kinda their thing. You must not be that big of a Primus fan if you don't know that lol
@@Uni413 Oh for fucks sake, every Primus fanboy has to whine on every video about how "the true fans" know what Primus sucks means. We get it. You listened to Primus WAAYYY before everyone else on earth. You probably listened to Primus before Les even learned how to play bass. Goodie for you. Here's a cookie.
