We are a Greek Swedish couple and I love how you had both English and Italian in church. It was fantastically beautiful, everything, you looked so serene, and your dress, the little bridesmaids, the priest, your husband so handsome, and what a setting and backdrop. We have fertility issues too and are on our fourth year trying. But in two weeks our first (and who knows hopefully last) IVF journey starts.

I wish people wouldn't clap at weddings, especially church weddings. It's vulgar and crass. It's supposed to be a sacred moment - apart from parenthood, the most momentous and serious of a person's life; it isn't just "a big day".
I'd have to have some sort of professional chanting by monks immediately after the exchange of vows to discourage people from clapping. Even worse, I've witnessed clapping following a eulogy at a funeral.
