I'll say this plainly. Return of Superior Spider-Man hasn't been bad. Waiting a whole month between issues has sucked, but otherwise the run has been consistent with writing evil Oc into slowly coming to understand (and I mean slowly) what his time as Superior meant. There are some issues and gripes here or there, but for the most part Slott has been delivering on Superior content, and leaves some room for a promising future for the character should Marvel pursue continuing work on things.
I actually enjoyed the Dock ock issues pre-return of Superior (Which I still haven't read) I thought they were decent fun issues, nothing ground breaking though, run has been pretty inconsistent outside of that, it has toyed with good ideas, I think Spider-Man taking all of Norman's sins and becoming evil, whilst kind of a goofy premise, could have been done well with good execution, but they gave the arc no breathing room so all we got was some extremely amazing art, and some rather edgy writing. My biggest problem with the run has mainly been the fact that A. The arcs don't last long enough, and B. It's as if the arcs never happen after they move onto the next arc, every single time something is about to get interesting, it ends, and once it ends, it's as if it never happened, you would think that evil Spider-Man arc would have had some stakes in events that would occur after the arc, but it just never gets brought up again in any meaningful way, so what was the point?
Return of Superior hasn't been bad tbh. It's been keeping consistent with Oc as he is currently in the comics while ever slowly progressing him as a character. It re-treads a bit of old ground, and contends with Oc being a sac of shit, while also displaying he has a lot more room to learn and grow, than the old Oc did. I'd honestly wait till it's completed and see where they take it after it's done though, than reading it as it releases, since the month-long break between issues is kinda shitty. There are issues with it, of course. But there's a lot of promising features to it as a short run to be something great should it be carried forward.
I'm going to be honest the spiderman comic series is in a horrible state and honestly all over the place with them trying to keep Peter in the same place and not having him grow in terms of power, maturity, and wealth
I remember the issue the writers had with Spider-Man turning evil. The fans liked it and were really rooting for him to finish off Paul. So they had to make sure Paul gets plot armor and sort of a MC status for getting to claim he was better than Peter in every way as a husband/boyfriend and practically getting ready to steal more of Peter's stuff. What is the point of turning him evil if we can't let him do the ONE THING fans would want and the first thing he would actually do! As for Ultimate Spider-Man... I will wait for that as I fully except them to ruin it by issue 20 at the latest. As Marvel hates Peter Parker, but he still sells better than the rest of their 'new replacement characters' even while people rage at the writers.
Let’s hope in the next run of amazing Spider-Man Paul is killed or mj breaks up with him and she goes back to the person she should be with which is peter. I am excited to see where ultimate Spider-Man goes
Ultimate Spider-man really supported what I said all those years ago about Spidey needing to put in Hickman’s hands. He’s the 616 Peter that we need right now.
I feel like these comics are bound to suck since spiderman and all superhero’s have dragged out stories for hundreds of years you don’t see independent series do what Marvel or DC do really
@@Terriblyexplainingcomics yes you're right butt come on bro.. that nick Spencer run was dope.. then zebb wells came through after the spiderman beyond storyline and turned it to shit.. ultimate Spider-Man is fire thoo
Ultimate X-Men is weird, and that's all there is to say, it seems like they're trying to set up something thought provoking and tie it into the X-Men brand, but having only read the first issue, it's just a manga inspired comic that I have no idea where it's going to go, however, I think it's definetely going to tackle the issue of mental health, and supressing past memories
@eyecon1189 Ooooh, I am glad to see another fan of ultimate x-men (2024) I fallen in love with peach momoko take on x-men too. I am more manga reader than comic reader and her artwork resonate me, while the story is very interesting being so drastically different. Make this comic stand out a lot then what old ultimate x-men was or the main x-men before, but it's a shame for being too different cause a divide of fans don't like it.
You losers will piss and moan on anything even slightly different, the current run isn’t some Immortal Hulk level of good but it’s fun, a good read and does not deserve the toxicity spewed toward it that it gets. Spider-Goblin will haunt you for life
But hey Atleast we have the ultimate Spider-Man and the spectacular spidermen
