Paul Newman voiced doc Hudson, makes sense there'd be a reference to other films of his in the Cars franchise, including his film "Hud". Magic School bus was not only a TV show but also an insanely popular book series when the makers of this film would have been younger/kids and this guy's far from the only one who made the "Miss Fritter/Miss Frizzle" connection. I think the Pixar execs actually confirmed that one in an interview somewhere.
