I'm pretty sure people can survive 24 hours without food, water, or shelter, so I'm pretty sure you can go 24 hours with bitcoin.

Transaction fees are now around 5-50 cents. They were filming During/Right after the bull run of 2017 which took the price of bitcoin from $2000 to $19800 in 4 months !! Transaction fees were crazy at the time
So my grandpa recently passed. And the cremation place accepted bitcoin, in Minnesota, accepted bitcoin. And your telling me almost not place in California la area doesn’t accept it.
That one man is right, the fees for transactions with bitcoin are way too high. Better use Ethereum or Litecoin.

charliethewizz you are right. I would diversify your investments. I don't, to me the idea of people just inflating the price of coins bc they purely want to resale it for higher doesn't sit too well. But some coins have some legitimate uses to them
ThatCarGuy yeah, there are some coins that really have a potential, but are overshadowed with the Bitcoin hype. Sadly this hype could cause some serious regulations on this market (like S. Korea talks) and this could holdback this market.
They are called cryptocurrencies you fucking morons not 'coins'. Also it is never wise to invest in cryptocurrencies unless you spend months or even years studying and predicting big rises in their price and/or notice a new one that could easily grow in economy.

You should have mentioned other cryptocurrencies that are far superior to bitcoin in both the transaction speed and the fees. Bitcoin is the most accepted cryptocurrency because it was the first one but slowly other currencies are taking over and soon you’ll be able to make instant transactions with zero fees. Not to mention that cryptocurrencies have functions other than being used in day-to-day transactions. The blockchain can be used on an enterprise level to create amazing things and change the world!
G D why in the hell would they talk about other currencies? The point of this episode was simply to see if cryptocurrency is an acceptable currency for real-world application. Why would they talk about currencies like Ethereum who are basically only there for you to buy and wait to sky rocket or to convert to bitcoin for payment. The whole point was literally just to see if it was actually usable like all the hype beasts for bitcoin claim. Other currencies aren’t even close to this advanced. Etheruem has a good 4 to five years before its first real spike.
A snarky name. They should have mentioned other cryptocurrencies because bitcoin is slow and has huge transaction fees. People should know there are better options. BTC is not usable for daily transactions. Currencies like XRB and XLM(and many more) are the future, instant transfers and zero fees. You can’t compare ETH to BTC because ETH isn’t technically a currency for day-to-day transactions. It’s a platform for dApps. Also you say that ETH didn’t have its spike yet. Then how do you explain the increase from 7USD in January 2017 to 1400USD in January 2018. That’s almost a 20000% increase. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.

im confused on how the value works. for example at one point one bitcoin was worth $16,000 so say i want a sandwich thats $8 how do you split that one bitcoin up to pay for that $8 sandwich without cashing out your bitcoin? or can you only use whole bitcoins? like find something worth the value of a bitcoin at that specific time.
