Can you please make a video on how you financed medical school, afford your apartment in new york, basically how to manage work and school if you have to live on your own while also affording med school, loans etc.
prob help from parents, a lot off ppl either have help from them getting loans or lived with them prior to to make it able for them to make it later on. just a guess but def what ive noticed
Med school is a full-time job times 2. There's no having a job while in medical school unless you do work study which is usually 20 hours or less per week. Most of us made it by taking out loans which for medical school are meant to cover living expenses too.

Your videos even if it's everyday videos are great source of inspiration for me. Trying to make the most of my every day too. If you have time it would be nice to hear your opinion about prioritizing. I feel overwhelmed with different opportunities and I feel like I'm missing out if I refuse to do something. On the other hand I am physically not able to do all those things and choosing what I want to do seems like a hardest choice at times
Get ready. Depending on your field, you could be on call a lot. Especially when you are starting out. When I first started with a small group, I was on-call every third day 24/7. That got better as our group grew, but I'm still on every 6th.
Did you watch the second episode though? Also, Gabriel Garcia Marquez is one of my favourite writers. Reading his books made me want to start learning Spanish so I could appreciate his work in its original form.
So glad you are back ! :D for your cat, can I give you an advice ? Buy some Cat Grass, it is especially what cat love, and need, and if you can provide her that plant, she won't eat your other plants :)

Make sure they’re not poisonous to her. Also, you can get a little water bottle to deter her from doing things you don’t want her to. If you spritz her lightly w/water, she will learn to associate the water bottle w/things she shouldn’t do. Then you just set it up by your plants & she won’t touch them any longer.

My cat loves spinach. If we give her spinach she stays away from the plants, mostly. She is so weird. If we have spinach in a salad she loses her mind and waits patiently so she can have a few leaves.

Hey! I was wondering what you guys usually do when you're on call during your anesthesia rotation. Do you get to go to the OR if there is an emergency surgery? Do you also perform regional anesthesia procedures like spinal block or nerve block? I'm almost on my 4th year of anesthesia residency in Argentina, so I'd love to know more about how the anesthesia block works abroad.
Also, I have 2 cats and the struggle to keep them from destroying my plants while I'm not home is REAL AF. :(

I’m a 3rd year and pretty decided on emergency medicine but this sleep schedule is discouraging lol 😭
Once you are out of residency you basically have one of the best lifestyle out of all specialties with the exception of maybe derm and pm&r. Work 8~10 days in a month with no call and get payed butt load of money. I'll take that anytime

@@HeyDoctorHelene It gets better after pgy-1. It is on par with other cushy residencies depending on the program. That is if u don't do moonlighting of course

Do you guys get paid while on call?
i think the job is salaried so it doesn't matter how many hours you end up working at the end of the month.

@@davidsanchez586 not necessarily. it can also mean that you get paid the same amount even if you worked less hours than last month or if you dont get called in. i personally prefer salaries over hourly wages. if you want to get more paid hours you can still work overtime.

Out of residency, the range is very wide based on specialty. Average can be anywhere from $200-500k

Heya Jamie. I'm not sure how accurate this is put I heard that the succulents can be toxic to kitties.
i underestimated how much work kittens can be honestly. mine is 6 months old, i have never had a cat before, only a dog and she needs so much attention and play time like damn. I constantly have to throw something for her, then she loses her toy, starts crying because she can't find it, so i have to help her look for it, throw it again. She pretty much only sleeps at night which i didn't expect, i thought cats sleep a lot more but mine doesn't for some reason. And everytime i don't give her any attention she starts biting me or just starts jumping on top of everything throwing shit off the table

Any tips for a premed between prereq courses for the summer? I’ve only taken chem 1 and bio 1, feel solid on bio but chem 1 Professor was not very good at all.
So any applications or study materials you would recomend to really cement my learned knowledge in preperation for bio 2 and chem 2?
