My pleasure, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! They make a charming Holmes and Watson. The whole Whitehead series is posted on CZcams if you're ever curious to watch an episode. My favorite is "The Luckless Gambler" :)

These two remind me a lot of the 50s series with Ronald Howard and Howard M. Crawford

Yes, well spotted! Sheldon Reynolds was the showrunner for both the Howard series and the Whitehead series, and in fact several of the same scripts were used so that a few episodes are exact re-makes of Howard era episodes. They are certainly sister series, with similar sensibilities :)

Oooh, I didn't know that. That's so cool. I actually have never heard of this series before I stumbled upon your video and I definetely have to go check them out! Now I know what I'm gonna do the next few days :D xD

Yes! I saw almost identical dialogue in two of the episodes (the one with the baby and another) and i got very excited when comparing the two - thanks for the explanation! 👍

AAA loved this!!!I am currently watching this series with awful quality and enjoying very much. I already watched the 1954 series which I love with all my heart, so I am finding this version very fun!

That's wonderful! I'm so delighted to hear that you are discovering and enjoying this series, and that you had fun with this vid! It's a charming adaptation :) And yes, Sheldon Reynolds re-used some of the scripts from his 1954 series, as I'm sure you're discovering, while also doing plenty of new episodes. Oddly enough, this series has only been made available on DVD in Germany, but if you have the ability to play DVDs from different regions then it's a fun purchase. I hope you keep having fun watching everything!

Watched all of the Rathbone movies, and all of the Ronald Howard TV and am watching the Geoffrey Whitehead TV programs. The two latter Watsons are no where near the character that Nigel Bruce portrayed. That is, not a buffoon. And even they are played differently, Crawford was Howard's muscle and Whitehead's Watson is much more refined and much more in tune with Holmes's reasoning. . All good stuff.

I have never seen this version before, and I'm flabbergasted. Now I have to SEE the gayest Holmes.

This is literally the gayest version of Holmes/Watson outside the original Canon and the Granada series. I've uploaded most of the series on my channel, but it's cringy (VHS) quality and the set I have is missing a few episodes. Still, it's one of the best and most underrated adaptations, imho.
