Actually that's no true nowadays. Lots of industrial designer are using AI tools to enhance their project process
Saying "real designers don't use AI" is like when they said "real designers don't use photoshop, only pen and markers". AI is just another tool like Photoshop, , like pen and paper, like markers, like 3D and so many others things made to speed up the process of creation.
I definitely use AI
Try using the interior settings for your car, you'll be surprised at the results.
