Danny Moder Christmas

My friend Danny Moder was an excellent camera assistant. When I shot this, he told me about Christmastime, December 23 a few years ago, when after a long hours sleep experience, he had to make a dangerous decision. Fortunately he is with us today as an excellent Director of Photography. We should learn, as Danny did: Never confuse having a career with having a life.

Thanks for sharing, Danny. This happened to me and my to my son also who is in the business. Both of us crashed the center divider on a lonely freeway in the wee hours after 20 something hour days on separate occasions. Fortunately we were unharmed.

I hope these stories help change things. These insane hours aren't necessary: it falls under that axiom lack of proper planning shouldn't impose an emergency on every one else.

I so can relate to that, and funny thing, it happened to me working on a shoot too on Palmdale, big commercial, long hours and night shoot, still I don't remember how I've got home safe. But I thought, never again. Being alive it's more important

They are inspiring couple working in a big Hollywood industry, very humble and having a very good relationship and family togetherness. Reminds me of Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward relationship. He is Aquarian like Danny Air signs and Julia is Scorpio and Joanne is Pisces, both water signs. You think air and water doesn't mix but the explanation in the book is light bottle of champagne, liquid and bubbly. Aquarian is usually aloof and distant because they needed freedom to be yourself, but with the right partner is very loyal. They will give the same freedom to be themselves in a partner. Paul Newman's hobby is race car driver, he is also a philanthropist; and Danny is a surfer and environmentalist. Both Julia and Joanne indulge them with the needed freedom to be themselves. Their marriage is secure because the women can also be involved in whatever they needed in life to be whole. They are secure with the partnership because they are traveling in parallel paths with the same goal that bonded them. Money and material things does not interfere with the relationship. Steady love and friendship are very important in a long term relationship. A lot of times, you are able to accept the flaw of a friend, and perfection in a partner. I believe God is guiding them, because the men are needed by the world to make it a better place. HE gifted them with very strong women to come home to; re-energized and emotional security as well as family to make them grounded. I love them.
