Ahh... Selena. The pain of her passing has been such.. that just now is the first time I listen to her since she left. I wanted to see your reaction. Terrible loss. She had the voice of birds to be honest. Seeing her performing you can then appreciate even more of her persona. She was literally full of life... her being was full of energy, she was something else.

Yes she died when she was only 23. She was murdered by the manager of her boutiques and fan club, who also embezzled 10's of thousands of dollars from Selena.

La Reigna del Tejano (The Queen of Tejano) was an incredible human being who was not only beautiful inside and out, but was a role model for so many of my fellow Mexicans and Mexican-Americans (especially the young girls and young women). Her death was horrific. I was living in Corpus Christi at the time she was killed. She was about to turn the music business on its head. She is dearly, dearly missed. RIP La Reigna!
Yes, she was on the cusp of making it big. She was stunningly beautiful with an equally beautiful voice. Such an awful story! 😪
Apparently, this song was actually written by one of her band members named Ricky Velez. He wrote it for Selena's sister, Suzette. He was in love with Suzette, but never admitted it, because Suzette was already engaged to and marrying someone else. He kept it to himself out of respect, and wrote this song, but never told anyone who he wrote it for at the time.

I first found Selena about 18 months before her tragic passing. The news that day of her dying and what happened was so sad and full of anger at the same time.
I truly believe that if she lived her life of being American and such a hit in Mexico would have, in many ways, smothered away the negatives between the USA and Mexico. Heck, I have no doubt one if the Presidents of 2000-2019 would have asked her to be an Ambassador.
Ironically this song was actually written from a males perspective by Ricky Vela who was in her band. It was written because he was in love with Selena’s sister Suzette but didn’t say anything. Suzette would get married and he then wrote this song after being heartbroken.

Ughhh when people don't do their research and watch a dumb lyrics video instead of the official video with actual visuals of what shes singing about 🙄 you could've watched the video and look up.the lyrics since you're getting paid to do it but you're too lazy to do that much
I don't speak Spanish and I would have had to look at the lyrics the entire time, and miss the video. You have no clue what I researched, or got "paid." I make zero money from this video since it's not able to be monetized either. You seem very unhappy. Go be grumpy somewhere else. 👋
