- Taking you with me while I test the brand new GasGas ES 700 enduro bike on some of my trails. Sharing with you my honest feelings riding this bike which I have been enjoying a lot. The ES 700 Enduro surely is one of the best Dual Sport Offroad bikes but also a great Rally Kit platform in fact I will make a custom Rally Bike build on it.

Best review I have seen so far...thanks for some real useful information. BTW you are a very competent rider, you look good going both slow and fast (a former AMA Expert/Pro License holder for 125cc Motocross and 250cc/350cc Road Race).

Great looking bike - love the black rear vinyl panels and they do make the bike look slimmer. I have kitted mine out but would love to be able to add the black panels (keeping the rest of the bike very red). The bike is awesome on and off road, but would advise getting the OE rear spring tension adjuster fitted and setting up the sag properly before going off road.
Congratulations on the build, it's a real head-turner.
Claimed dry weight of GASGAS 700 Enduro 322lbs 146kg. Wet weight: 352.74 lbs 160 kg. This means that the GasGas 700 Enduro weighs about the same as the 690/701 Enduro, about 350 lbs /159 kg. e.g 701 Enduro -21 wet 342 lbs 155kg. Wet weight 2020 KTM 690 Enduro 350.0 lbs 158.8 kg and 701 Enduro 344.2 lbs 156.1 kg.

Great review mate I run a KTM 690R it's an amazing bike. I have the 5L Auxiliary tank I generally average around 350-400kms with 15T-50T gearing and Motoz Rallz rear Enduro IT Front cheers

I wish you had mentioned the seat height is 1" taller than the KTM 690 and Husky 701. I used your videos to help me make my purchase decision but couldn't figure out at first why I felt like I was riding on top of the bike instead of in it. Even after raising the bars and such I couldn't get it to feel good for me. I found out later about the seat height being different. This bike is very very tall. I'm 6'1" and it still feels super tall for me. I ride on my tippy toes. I just installed a lowering link in hopes that helps, and plan to purchase a seat concepts seat. We'll see how it goes. But all in all, I would have bought the KTM or HUSKY had I known this ahead of time. I don't understand why Gas Gas messed with the ergos. I know it's not your fault and I should have known before buying. I was just really excited when I was at the dealer and didn't realize it at first.
Other manufacturers sell the same bike in different colours. KTM offer the same bike in 3 brands.

Thanks for the review. I just wish KTM would improve quality control and parts. I've been waiting for over 2 months for a TPS that fits my 690. Still I wait. Never again will a buy a KTM. Lucky I have my T7 to ride.
No problems in Germany ordering parts... Also you have to forgive em because of corona parts are all on backorder.

Ktm's are over priced pieces of shit, had a couple and couldn't wait to get rid of them , straight back to yamaha I went , I'm on my 9th yz450f and will never buy another brand again... I'm in Australia and got one of the first 2023 yz450f and it is a absolute weapon I couldn't ask for a single thing to be changed on it and by far the best bike I've ever riden in the bush by far.. there wouldn't even be another 2023 450 even close to it , when I'm moving it around in the shed it's like moving my son's yz250f ... if anyone is on the fence about getting one do yourself a favor and buy one you 100% will not regret it, bravo yamaha 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

yea looks the part , how did you find the seat height ? i would be keen for a ride on one ,at present im on a 390 adventure and ktm 250 exc 2 stroke , would be nice to do more on one bike . cheers good video

Great review and great channel. What about the clutch slave cylinder? Are you planning to swap it with some aftermarket ? Did you notice too much heat from the Euro5 exhaust?
This issue has been fixed since the 2021 models 👍🏼 Although they haven’t said it as it would be a way of acknowledging they had a problem before 😆

On any of the 690 bikes, it’s easier to do on trail fixes and home maintenance versus the big adventure bikes. Try getting to the spark plugs easily on anything with a huge tank over the front

I went from the tenere to the gasgas, soo much better off road and found it actually quieter on the road due to the poor t7 screen. 👍

How is the gear pitch here? On the closed trails and in the forest, what gear did you use mainly?

Thanks!! Yes same transmission as the 690, on the right trails generally kept 2nd and 3rd gear but depends a lot on which sprocket you mount.
Disappointed. As a 701 owner, I'd like ktm to manufacture this bike with some mods as other suspensions, shock and few other things. They really have the opportunity to make something much bigger and they miss it. It's just another 690/701 just colored different.
Compared to the 690/701 Enduro this is just another one... A Gas Gas 500 and 600cc Enduro + Adv Rally models are more interesting and what riders are asking for!

Does this bike have the same gearbox as the 690? I find the first gear on my 690 a bit to high. The 690 would be a much better bike with a different gearing.

It's a husky 701 in red
but a husky is a KTM in white...

I don't think anybody but racers buy a new bike and change the tires before riding it.... And putting better dirt tires on the bike means they only last 3k mi of dual use.
Would love to know how many people don't buy gasgas because they don't like the silver rims ... the number would surprise people even though they are just rims
In my case, I always prefer "normal" gray aluminum rims 👍👍
I love the silver rims and is one of the reasons I bought this bike instead of the others.
