      You're over complicating this. As a balanced dog trainer, I could resolve Sylvester's problems in minutes, if not seconds. Victoria's methods are laughable. As a balanced dog trainer, I guarantee you!!!! Dogs off the bed would be resolved in a matter of SECONDS!!! The clown show of this video of dragging dogs off of the bed his just laughable!!!! At the end of the video... THREE WEEKS LATER... and it shows a clip of the dog dragging the owner down the sidewalk!!! HAHAHAHA!!! @@telia4268 pretty much every problem you see here has to do with dogs and the way they behave. When Gloria steps in and trains these dogs, a large part of it involves using food to trick them into good behavior. I have friends who use the same approach with their dogs, they will get their dog to behave one moment, only for them to revert to their original behavior when they're not around or when someone new shows up, or any other reason. Either these dogs don't really understand us or what we want from them (disproving half the platitudes I hear about dogs), or they don't care what we want from them and will take the first opportunity to do what they want instead (disproving lots of the other platitudes out there).

    • @santiagoporret5247
      @santiagoporret5247 Před 11 měsíci +14

      @@sodapopjones260I like a lot the way you explained it “tricking the dog into good behavior” that’s exactly the problem with modern dog training techniques. When rewards comes in to solve behavior issues, it stops being communication, it’s just tricking the dog through its instincts. That’s why most of them revert, it’s an unconscious process, plus it is unnatural and requires a human in it to be successful.

    • @santiagoporret5247
      @santiagoporret5247 Před 11 měsíci +4

      Though Victoria chooses to address the dog actually. One example: there was no need of food, the dog smelled the leash and had no problem with it, the owner holding the leash was the actual scary thing😂 she made it seem like the leash was the problem, instead of actually teaching the owners not to chase after the dog if they want to catch it, basics of animal handling.

      Yes! We can have a total of 5 animals. Any mix of dogs and cats is fine, as long as there are no more than 5 total. When you have too many, it's difficult for them all to get their emotional needs met. I am a pet sitter and dog walker. One of my clients has seriously evaded the rules and has 7 cats and 3 dogs, all indoors. I was quite concerned the first time I met them. I was told how many animals they have up front. They've been my clients for more than two years whenever they go out of town. Luckily, there are 4 children over the age of 10. The house never smells. The dogs are actually trained in the basic commands, and they seem emotionally secure. But if they didn't have the kids all tending the animals, along with the adults, I can't imagine the chaos there would be! Their level of good care of the animals is, actually, impressive! It's a relaxed, happy home. I'm happy with our two little dogs. That's enough for my husband and I.

      Jeff reasoned his not helping by saying that he was afraid that if he’d helped out more, Melissa would have just gotten another dog thinking they could handle more, meaning that the only reason she wasn’t getting another one was the chaos.

    This is part of why I got a puppy from a breeder as my first dog. People kept telling me to get a rescue/rehomed dog, but as an inexperienced dogs person, I wanted a clean start instead of having to struggle with other people's mistakes when I'm not even sure I could manage that. Obviously, as we've seen. getting a puppy can also go wrong, but then it's *your* fault. I do know training though as I have an education in conditioning for horses (same principles for all mammals, just slightly different methodology), but dogs are a first. I'd love to help out dogs in the future when I have more experience, but I feel like I owe it to them to not mess them up further.

    That walk training at the end is 100% how I taught my late bb how to walk on a leash. He still pulled a little every now and again when he got real excited, but mostly he spent 11 years walking nicely with me. He walked so well with me I could close my eyes and he'd keep us both going straight (because he'd be walking at my hip so evenly).
    I have a new pup now, we just took our first walk (he's a 2 year old chihuahua lol) and once he's confident with going out for walks, I'm sure I'll need to do that walk-turnaround-walk-repeat method with him too - he's got lots of energy. :D

For someone to continue to bring dogs in when your partner doesn’t want them is NOT okay! They should have talked first and come to a compromise both can live with. Victoria’s approach of telling him off is certainly a unfair way to bring him aboard now. I am sure there are other ways.

They are a commitment and he can’t love them and play with them but still keep blaming her for bringing them home when he has dog chores. They clearly need to communicate but the dogs cant suffer. I agree with the comment above, the dogs are the ones who deserve an apology.

Here you can only have 2 dogs, and if you want more you have to put an application in to your council for a permit which they then either approve or decline. You usually have to pay a fee with the application too. I'm surprised they're allowed so many dogs in a home., If it was a farm, then yeh that would be ok.
