I want this in our family room. I think I'll buy a beautiful mantel to cover the sides for decor. Thanks

Thanks for the video! Does the Multi Fire XD come in something that is smaller than 33" wide? My maximum opening is 31 1/2".

Can the glass in the front be cut out and a grate or screen be used instead? Dont like the glass in front. I have an older one, not dimplex, that uses screen in front and it looks much more authentic

Can you please comment on how much noise these fireplaces make when the heat function is on? Thanks

Which Revillusion model is the most realistic or favorite in your opinion? I would love a crackling fire sound but not if it sacrifices realism. That and a heater would just be a bonus.

All of the Revillusion models are the same flame effect. The only thing that changes is the size of the firebox and logs. So with respect to that, choose a size that you would be most likely to see in a normal house - like the 36". Also, the Herringbone brick is just a sticker and can look a little fake when you get up close. I had my technician remove the panels and custom paint them black... it looks great that way. Not sure why Dimplex doesn't offer with plain black!

Thx just bought the Haydn firesurround with revillusion. Thx for the head up about painting the background. And for the crackling fire sound. Put your Amazon Alexa on top of the surround and say alexa play Crackling fire sound..... done

I really love the flame effect of the Revillusion line.

Can you remove the side brick panels?

    • @ccfireplace753

Yes and No - depends on which model you are asking about..
      - MultiFire XD, Model PF3033HL - yes you can. They are easily removed.
      - Revillusion Firebox - No. However, they have a new model (the RBF24) which has a "Weathered Concrete" interior look that is very minimal. I believe Dimplex will be adding this Weathered Concrete option to their other models in the Revillusion line within the next few months. Check out the Dimplex website and search for the RBF24 with "WC" at the end of the model name. The WC is for Weathered Concrete. Hope that helps!

No - unfortunately not. And I know the herringbone look is not for everyone. They are a printed flat photo glued to the inner walls of the firebox. I think you could probably take the unit apart and put black paper in front of them - but you wouldn't be able to remove them... and it would be difficult to paint them. Remember, there's a clear panel right in the middle of this unit - so you'd have to maneuver around that. Check out the new RBF24 - they just came out with it and it has a different interior look - they call it Weathered Concrete. I just got one for our showroom. I'll do a review on it in the next 2 weeks.

Update - you can remove the panels and paint them black. But it's quite difficult to do so! You practically have to disassemble the whole unit.

These things are starting to get so expensive, there is irony in the fact some of them are close to the same price of installing a real stove or fireplace, but still look fake....not that it matters, every government either already have/or will ban real burning.

Could I get you to redo your review in Arabic, please? Or Klingon, if it's not too much to ask.
