    An hour long video can turn off a lot of people that may feel like they don't have the time to sit there and watch it, that's not the case with this one. Everyone is going to admittedly watch the whole thing then realize they'll be watching it more then once. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this up, Mr. Schusterick. I've got so much work to put in now that I've seen this and realize what I should be doing.

      Absolutely correct. Most videos are lacking the reasons "why" you should or should not throw certain ways. But Will explains the pros and cons without being overly detailed. Not one bit of useless information in this HOUR long video. I'm sure you have watched other videos that might be only 5 minutes but 3 minutes of them are just biased indo.lol

    "You're supposed to use your lower body" is something I've seen stated in so many clinics and so much advice revolves around it, but this is the first time I've actually seen anyone explain HOW that works. Will is amazing.

    Great video, Will! I will share this video to all my friends. It's cool of you to put out this video for free. People ask me all the time about form and technique, and I always send them to the clinic you did for Infinite Discs YT channel. This video is even more in depth and detailed, so people will appreciate this!

    I credit him with everything I do right as a player. Particularly with developing very accurate stand still throws. His mechanics are flawless.

    probably the best video I've watched to simplify the body mechanics... and an amazing thing most people don't realize is "snap" = drag.... which = less distance.... listen to Will's drive.... any of them.. 👍 👍 i think that might qualify him for best form. thanks for the video Will!!

    Really liked your and Seppo Paju's clinic in Finland. Distance hasn't been a problem for me but your guidance helped me alot with being more consistent with my accuracy on backhand drives :)

    Great clinic as usual. I've watched a lot of disc golf on CZcams the last year, and Will is the best instructor out there. Love that we got to look at some of his throws in this one too. Thanks!

    This is so very usefull information! Thanks for uploading this clinic! It would be nice, if you would allow subtitles, because many people in the world don't speak or understand everything. I'm willing to write a german subtitle to avoid automatic translation errors if you do so! :)

    Will: I know you feel a beginner should master throwing backhand with a slight hyzer. Would you say the same about forehand?

  • @jesselost05420

    On the grip you say to have your index finger just on the outside of the rim. How much pressure are you applying with that finger? Or does it just rest there?

    4 years late but the baseball analogy was a good one for me.you could never hit a ball with maximum power standing straight up.. I need to get over my toes and keep proper balance

  • @luftisbollen
    @luftisbollen Před 8 lety

    Hi Will, first of all thx for the free clinic :)
    also i want to point out that you tell us to throw at about waist, but when you throw you don´t, you throw alot higher than you think, right under the armpit at 45:40 ?, iam confused
    is that your goal to throw at weist high ? you throw diffrent than you teach,,

    • @Fitins400
      @Fitins400 Před 8 lety +1

      Hi luftisbollen, for the power drive, keeping the disc low on release is putting the body into a natural hyzer release angle. The 'hyzer flip' is the desired shot from this angle/position. The flatter or higher his arm is changes the flight outcome which is an effect of dialing in the needed distance/angle of the throw. Notice how from hyzer the arm position is low and on the other end (anhyzer) the arm raises. The degree of variation Will can apply is the difference between me (average golfer) and him, but he does not deviate from the rules he illustrates. Its just not often you actually see him break out a true hyzer flip full power line, instead he shows what it should be and why. Hope that helps.

    i'm still a little confused about the wrist action...do you try to hold it for as long as possible or fling it by your front leg?

    • @mjp431982
      @mjp431982 Před 8 lety +1

      just worked on flinging by your front leg with very positive results...thanks Will

  • @SpaceandAi261
    @SpaceandAi261 Před 7 lety +1

    He seems to say the opposite of what Simon Lizotte and Eagle McMahon says.. They say to reach back on a straight line and then pull it straight across your chest. Will says that you should pull the disc from waist high and then up.
    Whats the correct one? ;)

    • @rtproductionsrollintwentie9236
      @rtproductionsrollintwentie9236 Před 7 lety +1

      Lars T mostly depends on the situation, but ideally the best way to get the true glide of a disc is throwing low to high with the nose down

  • @jon51901
    @jon51901 Před 8 měsíci

    I love hearing experience and advice from pros, but it does have to be taken critically. There are a lot of good things in there. For example, no one else talks about using your lats to throw, which is really important. Beginners and intermediate players use their obliques, which are far weaker, requiring more effort with worse results. But there are also some problems. For example, he says the x step and plant foot should be in line with the target, but pros don't do this. He doesn't do this when he throws. Look at his throw from the back or front (czcams.com/video/rR6yuA2P5mQ/video.html). His x step/plant stance is staggered. Also, other pros will tell you not to do it (Joel Freeman - czcams.com/video/6x6SpPGBC5Y/video.html; Simon Lizotte - czcams.com/video/q9e_lEs7ASE/video.html).
