      Is mostly but about manners, even before the pandemic, it was common to see people wearing facemask if they felt sick. In Japan society > Individual.
      You would be surprised how many of the things you do are incredibly rude in Japan. Like blowing your nose in public, you are supposed to hold your mucus inside your nose until you are alone.

      I just can't wrap my head around it why so many Americans are repulsed of the thought of wearing a mask. It's not different from wearing a hat or sunglasses from a fashion point of view and it has the added bonus to potentially save other people from being sick. I hope other Americans discover it's value and you don't have to feel bad about wearing a mask haha. Stay safe, best wishes from Japan.

Wearing a mask may help that issue so why not? Very hard to understand the way people in America think but I guess it isn't my business how Americans deal with their problems the same way it isn't your business how we choose to deal with ours. @@NB-yu4lj I just realized two very big problems with your argument.
      1.Our legal system has nothing to do with people wearing masks. Our laws forbid the government from forcing the use of masks and also forbids them from forcing stores to close down.
      2. You say our government is inducing fear and this makes me think you commented on Japan without knowing or reading much about us because our government just launched a travel campaign to encourage travel inside the country. The government keeps reminding people that things are under control. The people are the ones who don't believe our government.
      Your opinions on this topic really are meaningless and I'm just reminding you about it. And I assure you I do not care about the USA and its problems, its just very fascinating sometimes the ways you seem to approach them. I just cannot help but wonder. thats why over 1000 cases these days

    • @ei-on4eb
      @ei-on4eb Před 4 lety +3

      Asuka Natsukawa You're saying "playing outside", so are you referring to kids? If you are, children make up fewer than 2% of reported cases globally. In fact, the transmission rate from a child to an adult is really low, too. It just doesn't happen often at all. So for that reason, I don't think those 1000 cases are caused by kids, or "people playing outside without masks". Another example would be if you happened to pass someone on the street. There's just no chance of you catching it unless they actually act on something like sneezing/coughing right on you. This is because the virus can't really be airborne nor survive without being on a surface. Even then, it can't survive for long *on surfaces.* But then again, even if it was on a surface you still would probably not get it.
      _"Based on the available evidence, the COVID-19 virus is transmitted between people through close contact and droplets, not by airborne transmission. The people most at risk of infection are those who are in close contact with a COVID-19 patient or who care for COVID-19 patients."_
      So yeah, basically, unless you're in close contact with someone that has the virus, you're probably alright. And by close contact, I mean being physical; not standing beside them. Children would probably be close to immune to those regulations, though.

    Your videos fill me with so much sadness but also with lots of joy. Last year I've done a working holiday and lived for ten months in Japan/Tokyo. I've made so many incredible memories in the city and I remember so many streets from your videos and the days I've been there as if it was yesterday. I am so happy to have found your channel. I would love to be able to do similar walks like yours again but sadly that won't happen for a long long time.
    Still, thank you for your work!
    I don't know what your plans are for future videos, but I would really love to see one near Osaka/Osaka Castle or Kobe (Nunobiki Herb Gardens down to the city). Kamakura would also be really beautiful and probably a lot closer

    • @melzer1377
      @melzer1377 Před 4 lety +28

      That's because this is an urban part of jpn where there is a large number of younger ppl. I think myb most of the elder population live in rural or suburban areas. Also during covid19 pandemic, older ppl are told to stay at home so it makes sense to not see them in such a crowded area.
