    I'm so glad I found you Matt,such knowledge and good beats to learn. I played reg drums for years and I'm finding Djembe drums to be a little different than regular drumming. I know the stuff to practice and have been in several circle's. Not I just play outside and enjoying my retirement time,let's me practice rudiments for sticks and hands,and my Djembe drum out on porch doesn't seem to bother my neighbors,they love how my playing relaxed them. Have a blessed day and thank you again for hooking us greener drummers up with the good stuff.

      Thank you for taking time to comment and let me know how this has helped you. I am so glad! Truth be told it's been ages since I last drummed but am getting two of my drums fixed up soon and will be recording again!

    I just wanted to take the time to thank you for posting these videos, they are helping me a lot. Instead of getting bogged down in something that I just can't understand you present it in a way that just sinks in almost straight away. I've had so much fun playing my Djembe already and I feel like after only a couple of weeks I could play with others.

      +Miss Fox Thanks a lot. That was the goal of making these patterns/vids. Get someone who has just started some skill to be able to play with others, we enjoy it more when we play with others.

    Thank you for the new beat Matt! Good to see you still around, and moving ahead. I’ll admit I haven’t seen your videos in a long time, since moving to the cajon several years ago for the church band. For me the cajon is much better for music rooted in rock.

    I don't know how beginners are supposed to follow this. It would help to have verbal instruction and to have the camera from over the shoulder behind the drummer so we can match our hands.

    • @MattHains
      @MattHains Před 4 lety

      Many people have said they prefer this, hands are not relevant at this stage, just listen and let your hands follow their natural instinct. But I do agree with the camera over the shoulder. I made these videos a long time ago and was very inexperienced at filming. I will take your input into consideration though if I ever do film again. Thank you.
